Text | Per Application by Solder for Admission to the Washington Veterans' Home dated 11 Sept 1916, Elisha Monroe Bagby, age 72, had resided in the State of Washington since 1884. He was a laborer, and married on Aug. 10 1870 at New Hampton, Chickasaw County, Iowa by Justice of the Peace Wm. Parker to Sarah (Nancy) Jane Trusty, born on Sept 7, 1844, Iowa, father's name was Davis Bagby. Mother's birthplace Alabama. He had one child living, Edmund Babgy - age 40 - Black Diamond, Washington. He was receiving a pension of $20.00 a month for serving in the Civil War on Certificate #743,281 from April 18, 1913.
