- Erwin - Mrs. Amanda Ellen Torbett, 84, Rt. 1, Unicoi, died Saturday at 10:15 p.m. in Johnson City Memorial Hospital after a lingering illness. Mrs. Torbett was a native of Watauga and was a member of the Christian Church there. Survivors include two brothers, Robert P. Larimer, Watauga; and E. T. Larimer, Florida; one sister, Mrs. Donnie Vest, Johnson City. Erwin Memorial is in charge. JOHNSON CITY (Tenn.) PRESS-CHRONICLE, 24 July 1972, p. 2.
Funeral services for Amanda Ellen Torbett, age 84, of Route 1, Unicoi, who passed away Saturday at 10:15 p.m., will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Erwin Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Roy Huskins to officiate. Interment in Roselawn Memory Gardens. Pallbearers: Vaughan Harmon, Robert Harmon, Glenn Davis, Jerry Honeycutt, Danny Street, Bailey Woodby. The family will receive friends Monday evening in the funeral home. Erwin Memorial funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.
