- Pauline Vernie Tolley, 91, Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, July 19, 2012, in the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness.
A native of Bluefield, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late W.B. & Vernie Mary Tanner Haldren. She had lived most of her life in Carter County. She had been employed by the Bemberg Corporation and North American Rayon Corporation. Mrs. Tolley was a member of the Pleasant Beach Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two half-sisters and two half-brothers and a sister & brother-in-law.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years: Raymond Tolley; One Son: Adrian Raymond Tolley, of the home; Two Sisters-In-Law: Ethel Hayes and Mary Tolley, both of Elizabethton; Several nieces & nephews; Her special friends: Darlene Smith, Roma Smith, Rosa Lewis and Sharon Smith.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Charlie Biggs and Pastor Bryan Smith officiating.
Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Saturday, will be: Billy Tolley, Dean Tolley, Zeke Tolley Jr., Gordon Lewis, Pat Smith, Walter Slagle, Douglas Tolley and Gary Johnson.
The family wished to express a special "Thank You" to all the employees of Pine Ridge Care Center and Dr. Robert E. Walter.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.
