- Page Eugene Powers, age 81, Unicoi, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, October 27, 2019 while he was surrounded by his family. He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a son of the late Walter Mack Powers and Nettie Derfield Powers.
Page was a proud United States Army Veteran. He was awarded a Expert Rifle M-14 Badge. Page attended Unicoi Church of God.
He retired from Hoover Ball after thirty years of service. Page was a member of the FLW, Unicoi County Bass Club and the Red Barn. He also played music at the Bowman Cabin.
Page loved playing with his grandchildren, fishing, playing music, camping and watching University of Tennessee sports.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mae Bryant; six brothers: Artist, McAlester, Hank, Truman, James and infant brother, Willard.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of sixty-eight years, Thelma June Brummett Powers; two sons: Shane Powers (Denise), Roanoke, VA and Kevin Powers (Joy), Unicoi; five grandchildren: Alexa Riehl (Patrick), Dylan Powers, Carter Powers, Chloe Powers and Colston Powers; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 PM until the hour of service on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at the Unicoi Church of God. Reverend Eddie Blazer will officiate at the 7:00 PM funeral service. Carter Powers will deliver his grandfather's Eulogy. Music will be provided by Edison Wallin, Jim Ameigh, Danny Powers and Amanda Osborne.
Committal will be held at a later date. Page requested to be cremated.
