    Buried:
    Ollie P. Maupin, 89, Johnson City, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 24, 2009, at Lifecare Center of Gray, following a lengthy illness. A native of Carter County, Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late James and Pearl Winters Perry.
    She was the oldest living member of Johnson City Freewill Baptist Church.
    Mrs. Maupin served as fountain manager of Jones Vance Drugs for 23 years. She opened her home to many people in times of need. Mrs. Maupin was known as a neighborhood barber for many friends.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Allen Maupin; four brothers; two sisters; two daughters, Carol Maupin and Betty Postma; and one son, Roger Maupin.
    Survivors include sons, Glen Maupin and wife, Debbie, Bristol; Harold Maupin and wife, Linda, Gray; Roy Maupin, Johnson City; Randal Maupin and wife, Debbie, Maryville; daughter-in-law, Sharon Maupin, Church Hill; stepsisters, Willie Sweeney and Dorothy Perry, both of Johnson City; uncle, Dan Winters, Roan Mountain; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.'
    The funeral service for Mrs. Maupin will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2009, from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Rev. Rex Johnson and Rev. Jack Maupin officiating.
    Graveside interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Williams, John Stout, J.C. Stout, Eugene Sweeney, Jimmie Slagle and Timothy Coffman.

    Glen Allen Maupin, 80, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 20, 2022, at his residence, after a courageous, twenty-year battle with cancer.
    Glen was born July 29, 1941, in Johnson City, to the late Preston Allen and Ollie Perry Maupin
    He lived in Cooper Landing, Alaska, for twenty-five years, where his heart will forever remain. Glen temporarily resided in Gray.
    He was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran, where he served more than twenty-five years. Following his retirement from the service, Glen worked as an Engineer for Sprint Telephone Co. for more than twenty years.
    He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church in Gray, and at Kenai Lake Baptist Church in Cooper Landing. Glen had strong ties to family and his many friends. He loved fishing the banks of the Kenai River in Alaska.
    In addition to his parents, Glen was preceded in death by wife Debbie, sister Betty Postma, brothers Roger and Roy Maupin.
    Those left to cherish memories of Glen include brothers, Harold (Linda) and Randall (Deb) Maupin; daughters, Donna Dearing and Karen Rutledge (Chris); grandchildren, Crystal Day, Brittney Rogers, Amber Turley and James Rogers; great-grandchildren, Abigail, William, Luke and Oliver; uncle, Jack Maupin; several nieces, nephews and cousins; many friends, including a very dear friend, Grace Reger.
    The family will honor Glen’s life with a graveside service on Monday, March 28, 2022, at 12:00 P.M., in Roselawn Memory Gardens, with Clinton Andrews, Minister, officiating.
