    Rev. Croy Nave, 92, 504 Bishop Hollow Road, Elizabethton, died Monday, November 13, 2000, at his residence following an extended illness.
    Rev. Nave was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Campbell and Katie Estep Nave. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Bowers Nave, September 19, 1972, and a son, Robert Nave.
    Rev. Nave was a member of and also served as pastor for several years at New Horseshoe Free Will Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation and a former employee of Paty Lumber Company.
    Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Frances Nave, June Nave and Carolyn and Archie Martin, all of Elizabethton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Willie L. and Ruth Nave and Earl E. Nave, all of Elizabethton; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Chester Nave, Elizabethton; and a sister, Eola Nave, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

    Mr. Chester Nave, 95, of 250 Keenburg Road, Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 21, 2006, in Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Nave was a native of Carter County and was the son on the late Robert Campbell & Mary Kate Estep Nave.
    He was retired from Bemberg, had worked for the U.S. Forestry Service, and was a former part time employee of Tetrick Funeral Home. He was a member of Keenburg Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Nave enjoyed woodworking, fishing and taking photographs.
    In addition to his parents, Mr. Nave was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Chambers Nave on June 13, 2005, three brothers and one sister. He is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Campbell of Elizabethton; a son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Faye Nave of Inverness, Fl; one grandson, Steven Campbell of Elizabethton, one granddaughter and
    grandson-in-law, Kathy and Kenny Clifton of Elizabethton; five great grandchildren, Justin Clifton, Logan Clifton, Taylor Clifton, Dawson Clifton and Kindra Campbell all of Elizabethton; and a sister, Eola Nave of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    The funeral service for Mr. Nave will be conducted on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. in the Tetrick Funeral Home Riverside Chapel in Elizabethton with Rev. Derl Curry and Mr. David Tysinger, Minister officiating. The Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the chapel prior to the service or at the residence, 250 Keenburg Road at other times. The graveside service and interment will be Sunday, December 24, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Emmert Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be David Estep, Carl Burrough, Willie Nave, Justin Clifton, Logan Clifton and Kenny Clifton. Honorary pallbearers will be Members of Keenburg Freewill Baptist Church, friends and neighbors and the 3rd floor nurses at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

    The graveside service and interment was conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Old Horseshoe Cemetery.

    ELIZABETHTON - Willie Nave, age 90 of Elizabethton, TN went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 2, 2022 at Johnson City Medical Center. He was the son of the late Croy and Virgie Nave. Willie was the last remaining of his siblings. He was employed at H.T. Hackney Company for 65 years. He was very hardworking, generous and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Willie was very dependable and well respected. He was a member of Eastside Freewill Baptist Church for 40 years. During various portions of that time he held the responsibility of Treasurer, Youth Director and Choir Director. He also held these responsibilities at East Fairview Freewill Baptist Church earlier in life.

    In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Tina Hyder; step-granddaughter, Sharon Griffith Compton; son-in-law, Larry Shorter; and grandson, Curtis Blaine Hyder, Jr.

    Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 73 years, Ruth Nave, of the home; son, Gary Nave (Mary), of Las Vegas; daughters, Pat Shorter and Patricia Bradford (Billy), both of Elizabethton; grandchildren, Heather Bradford Merritt and Michael Nave; great-grandchildren, Emily Merritt and Austin Hyder; five step-granddaughters, Sandy, Susan, Nikki, Summer and Lindsey and several step great-grandchildren.

    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Croy Luther & Virgie Bowers Nave.

    Carolyn was a substitute teacher with the Carter County School System.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Frances Nave and June Nave and two brothers: Robert Nave and Earl Nave.

    She was a member of the New Horseshoe Free Will Baptist Church.

    Her grandchildren was her hobby.

    Survivors include her husband of 35 years: Archie “Micky” Martin. One Daughter: Melissa Buckles & husband Timmy. Four Grandchildren: Shyann Rogers, Evan Rogers, Gabriel Buckles and Titus Buckles. One Brother: Willie Nave & wife Ruth. Several nieces & nephews. Her special friends: Michael Rogers and Ashley Garland.

    The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Garland officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2020 in the Nave Cemetery (Bishop Hollow).

    JONESBOROUGH - James Dean Nave, 79, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
    Jim was born in Johnson City to the late Carl and Margaret Bishop Nave.
    Jim worked at Biff Burger until it closed and then managed the Orange Bowl close to 20 years. He later went on to work for Morris-Baker Funeral Home as a funeral assistant for over 30 years and loved his job of helping people. He was a member and Deacon of Skyline Heights Baptist Church. Jim enjoyed golfing, cooking, mowing the yard and fishing. He was such a kind man and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
    In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by: one brother, Theodore Nave (Barbara); one niece, Debbie Phillips; brother-in-law, Daniel Vineis; and father and mother-in-law, Harry and Billie David.
    Survivors include: his wife of 58 years, Linda Nave, of Jonesborough; two children, Natalie Watson (James), of Jonesborough, and Mark Nave (Marco Gutierrez), of Richmond, VA; two grandchildren, Darrin Lindner (Tara), of Unicoi, and Daniel Lindner (Alyssa), of Limestone; five great grandchildren; one brother, Walter Nave (Mary), of Johnson City; niece, Angela (Donald) Payne, of Gray; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Eddie) Lawrence and Cheryl Vineis; special granddaughter, Ann Barnett; and several nieces and nephews.
    The family would like to especially thank the staff with Amedisys Hospice, the nurses at JCMC and Dr. Robins for their care and compassion.
    The family of Jim Nave will receive friends from 11 AM until 1 PM on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 1 PM with Pastor Randy Robbins officiating. Pallbearers will include: Mark Nave, Darrin Lindner, Daniel Lindner, Marco Gutierrez, Jimmy Watson, Richie Nave and Donald Payne. The committal service will be held at 2 PM on Friday at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
