Arlie Vernon Cole, 93, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at his residence. He was born April 21, 1928 in Elizabethton to the late Flossie Cole Grindstaff.
Arlie was retired from Freemons in Torrance, Calif., after 30 years of service. He was a member of Moores Chapel Free Will Baptist Church but attended Willow Springs Baptist Church. His hobbies were singing, collecting toys, traveling, and in earlier years, square dancing.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Cole.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Taylor Cole; three sons, Lloyd of Arkansas, Jimmy of Maine and Barney Taylor and wife Beverly of Ohio; two daughters, Marlena of Wisconsin and Priscila Davis and husband Ed of Elizabethton; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a special granddaughter and caregiver, Heather; a special great-granddaughter, Matti; and one brother, Obie of Texas.
The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 12, in the Kress Cemetery with the Rev. Eric Heaton and the Rev. Chris Hughes officiating. Interment will follow the service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

Arlie married Mary Lowe about 2022. Mary (daughter of Stephen Jacob Lowe and Lena Belle Grindstaff) was born on 19 Jan 1930 in , Carter County, Tennessee, ; died on 22 Apr 2023 in , Carter County, Tennessee, ; was buried in Kress Cemetery, Carter County, Tennessee, . [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
