    Bert Paul Poarch, 47, of 31 Kentucky St., died unexpectedly at 5:30 p.m. yesterday at his North Carolina, he a native of had resided in Johnson City since his youth.
    He was a member of the Baptist church and had been employed as a sheet metal worker at Willard Heating and Air Conditioning Co. for 20 years.
    Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Vena Evelyn Poarch; four sons, Bert Poarch Jr., Jacksonville, Fla., Robert Charles Poarch, Wayne Poarch and William Pouch, all of Johnson City; two sisters. Mary Poarch and Pearl Poarch of Elizabethton; six brothers, Ray Poarch, Johnson City, Clyde Poarch, James Poarch, Guy Poarch, and Tommy Poarch, all of Elizabethton, John Poarch, Houston, Tex.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

    Albert married Vena Evelyn Holder on 28 Feb 1933 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Vena was born on 15 Jun 1909 in , Giles County, Tennessee, ; died on 1 Oct 1991 in Washington County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Monte Vista Memorial Park, , Washington County, Tennessee.     JOHNSON CITY - Wayne Edward Poarch, age 80, of Johnson City, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
    Wayne was born November 26, 1942, to the late Bert Poarch Sr. and Vena Holder Poarch in Carter County. He married the love of his life, Opal Jane Waldrop Poarch and together they raised three children.
    Wayne owned and operated Fast Delivery Service for 48 years. He absolutely loved dirt track racing and he was an owner and operator in the 1970’s. In his free time, Wayne loved to camp and fish. Every weekend for many years he and Opal would get away to their camper on Cherokee Lake. He had an incredible sense of humor, and he will be greatly missed.
    In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Opal; son, Chris Poarch; and grandson, Christopher Poarch Jr.
    Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Deena (and Randal) Widener; son, Tim (and Michele) Poarch; grandson, Matthew Widener; and granddaughter, Amber Poarch.
    There will be a graveside service at 12:00 pm, Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Monte Vista Memorial Park.

    Wayne married Opal Jane Waldrop on 6 May 1962 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Opal (daughter of Clifton Leon Waldrop and Pearl Wagner) was born about 1944 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died on 27 Jun 2021 in Washington County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Monte Vista Memorial Park, , Washington County, Tennessee.
