    Buried:
    Billy Joe “Bill” Shipley, 87, of Gray, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at his residence.
    He was a native of Washington County and son of the late Mack and Ina Elizabeth Shipley.
    In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his infant brother, Don Shipley, brother, Kenneth Shipley, of Boones Creek, and by his sister, Marie Thomas, Akron OH.
    Bill was a lifelong resident of the Boones Creek Area.
    He was a dairy and beef farmer, and plasterer for Jim Wiseman and Sons Lathing and Plastering Business, where he worked for 20 years.
    He was a lifelong member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church.
    He loved to work in his yard in his flowers, he enjoyed woodworking and was an excellent re-finisher of furniture.
    Those left to cherish Bill’s memory include his loving wife of 67 years, Marjorie Wiseman Shipley, son, Jimmy E. Shipley and his wife Amy, grandson, Joey Shipley and girlfriend Sarah Ross, two granddaughters: Brittany Morelock (Dallas), and Taylor Ohman (Joey); three great-grandchildren: Carter Martin, Dawson Morelock, and Kennedy Morelock; brothers: Niles Shipley (Helen), Lawrence Shipley (Sybil); sister, Helen Sprinkle, several nieces and nephews whom he loved.
    We would like to especially thank the caregivers who took such wonderful care of Bill. They are Sarah Caldwell, Pam Shephard, Shirley Dover, and Cathy Rogers. We would also like to thank the Hospice family and especially his nurse Sarah Beth Wright, and Angie Prevett who were so kind to him.
    In lieu of flowers, you can kindly make donations to the church he loved Gravel Hill Baptist Church, 518 State Hwy 2564, Johnson City, TN 37615.
    The family will honor Bill’s life during a Graveside service at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Washington County Memory Gardens with Pastor David Montgomery officiating.
    Active pallbearers will be David Slonaker, Jerry Fleenor, Randy Sprinkle, Gary Shipey, Greg Wilson, and Frank Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Shields Bradshaw, Roger Shepard, Mike Clark, Joe Healy, Bill Ward, and Jim Rogers.
