    Mrs. Callie Ethel Tipton Hampton, 92, 235 Dry Branch Road, Martin Creek, died after a lengthy illness.

    Mrs. Hampton was a Yancey County North Carolina native and had lived most of her life in Unicoi County. She was a daughter of Dock and Usley Hensley Tipton.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Clay Hampton in 1957, one son, five daughters, three brothers and one sister.

    Survivors include four sons, Ed of Baltimore and Melvin , Wallace Williams and Junior Wigand, all of Erwin.

    Six daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Parsley and Mrs. Hollan Wilfong, both of Baltimre, Mrs. Shirley Bennett, Mrs. Anna Lee Banner and Mrs. Wanda Georgia, all of Erwin and Mrs. Jean Gray; one brother, Wiley Tipton and three sisters, Mrs. Edna Robbins and Mrs. Geneva McNabb, both of Erwin and Mrs. Lockie Banner of Baltimore.

    Callie married Clay Henry Hampton about 1918 in Unicoi County, , , Tennessee. Clay was born on 29 Oct 1990 in , Giles County, Tennessee, ; died on 14 Jul 1957 in Unicoi County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, , Unicoi County, Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
