    Buried:
    Mrs. Williams was a Unicoi County native but lived in Maryland for 48 years before moving to Swannanoa, in 1997. She was a daughter of the late Walter and Linnie Shelton Corn.

    She retired from Bendix Radio Division in Maryland after 27 years of service.

    Mrs. Williams was of the Baptist Faith.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Golden Williams: two daughters, Faye Fender and Mae Oliver: and one sister Virgie Boone.

    Survivors include: two sons, Earl Williams and Roger Williams, both of Baltimore: two daughters, Gale Hansen, Balitmore, and Midge Roper, Swannanoa, NC: four brother: Thomas "Mutt" Corn and Smith Hoyle, both of Flag Pond, Harry Corn, Erwin and Hartsell Hoyle, Greeneville: one sister Verta Haynes, Flag Pond: 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

    ERWIN - Harry H. Corn, age 92, Erwin, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus on Thursday, January 12, 2023. He was born in Flag Pond on Friday, October 10, 1930, to the late Walter and Diana Murray Corn. Harry was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County.

    He was a United States Army Veteran, having served his country honorably during the Korean War. Harry was awarded the Korean Service Medal with Four Bronze Campaign Stars and Distinguished Unit Citation. On June 25, 2000, Harry was awarded a Korean Service Medal on the 50th Anniversary of the Korean War by Kim Dae-Jung, President of the Republic of Korea.

    He retired from CSX Transportation in 1994 where he worked as a Carman for thirty years. Harry was a member of Higgins Chapel Baptist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Erwin Centennial Masonic Lodge #491 F&AM. He recently received his Seventy Year Masonic Pin. Harry was also a York Rite Shriner.

    He enjoyed raising a garden, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

    In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-eight years, Dorthea “Dot” Guinn Corn on August 13, 2011; three half-brothers: Thomas Corn, Smith Hoyle and Hartsell Hoyle; one half-sister, Vertie Haynes.

    Harry leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories, his two sons: Edward “Eddie” Corn and wife, Nina, Keith Corn and wife, Krista, all of Erwin; four grandchildren: Jason Corn (Rachel), Ryan Corn (Sarah), Keaton Corn and Austin Green and fiancé, Molly; four great grandchildren: Carson Corn, River Green, Lewis Casper, and Hudson Corn; numerous nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

    The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2023, at the funeral home chapel. Reverend Craig Shelton will officiate the 7:00 p.m. funeral service. Masonic Rites will be rendered by the Erwin Centennial Masonic Lodge #491 F&AM. Committal will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday in the Evergreen Cemetery with Reverend Kevin Laws officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by DAV Chapter 39 Honor Guard.

    Harry married Dorothea Guinn about 1951 in , Unicoi County, Tennessee, . Dorothea (daughter of Arthur Blaine Guinn and Ziporrah Tilson) was born on 20 Oct 1934 in Unicoi County, , , Tennessee; died on 13 Aug 2011 in Unicoi County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, , Unicoi County, Tennessee.     ERWIN - Johnny Mack Corn, age 78, Erwin, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and son of the late Thomas “Mutt” and Rosa Lee Harris Corn.

    Johnny retired from Hoover Ball in 2003 where he was employed for over thirty years as a supervisor. He attended Jennie Moore Presbyterian Church. Johnny loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed coaching and teaching baseball for many years. Johnny was an Atlanta Braves and University of Tennessee sports fan.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Corn.

    Survivors include his sons: Michael Corn, Columbia, TN and John Corn, Jr., Erwin; two sisters: Janice Metcalf (John), Erwin and Brenda Sue Sparks (Ed), Flag Pond; nieces and nephews: Vicki Perry, Stuart Sparks, Benjamin Sparks, Katie Sparks, T.J. Metcalf, Adam Pritchard, Aaron Pritchard, Andrew Shipp, Dan Shipp, Elodie Metcalf and Holston Metcalf; his dog, Ellie May.

    The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, July 23, 2021 at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Johnny’s funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday at Jennie Moore Presbyterian Church. Reverend Craig Shelton and Reverend George Rolling will officiate. Interment will follow in the Upper Higgins Creek Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
