Donald J. Treadway, 69, 312 East I Street, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Arthur and Mozella Hagy Treadway. Mr. Treadway was a 1959 graduate of Hampton High School and attended East Tennessee State University and Milligan College. Don was a retired Photographer with Coleman's Studio and had served as a Commissioner in the 8th District for 29 years. He was a member of Valley Forge Christian Church and a member of Dashiell Masonic Lodge #238 and the Elizabethton Elks Lodge #1847. Don was an avid Lady Vols fan and golfer.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Markland Treadway; a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Brandy Treadway, Forsyth, Ga..; three grandchildren, Erica Love, Hannah Miller and Bailey Miller; and a sister, Janice Treadway Ferguson and husband Henry, Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The graveside service for Mr. Treadway will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, December 9, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Dr. James Royston officiating. Music will be provided by Mr. Joel Crisp. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:50 p.m. Thursday, will be Shane Gouge, Doug Buckles, Cary White, David Sellers, Joe Sluder, Brian Vaughn, Larry Woods and Norman Peters. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Swift, Norman Chesser, Bill Horton, Billy Ray Harrell, Kent Hyder, Mack Henry, members of the 1959 Graduating Class of Hampton High School and present and former Commissioners of Carter County. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to the ICU of Johnson City Medical Center, employees of Sycamore Shoals Hospital, the Princeton Transitional Service and Dr. Kenny Hopland. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. KELLER, Texas — Janice K. Ferguson, 72, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018, at her home in Keller, Texas.
A native of Elizabethton, Janice lived the majority of her life in Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mozella Treadway of Valley Forge. Before moving to Texas three years ago, Janice attended First Christian Church in Johnson City and worked as a dental hygienist in Kingsport for over 50 years, working for Drs. Frank Buckles, Robert Hodge, and John Machen. She loved her patients and became close friends with many of them. Janice was a loving wife, mother, and recent grandmother who adored her three-year-old granddaughter, Alyssa. Janice will now be reunited with her late husband, Henry Ferguson, who passed away last year.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Rose Ferguson of Fort Worth, Texas, and her granddaughter, Alyssa Rose Ferguson.
Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home in Kingsport, Tenn., with a graveside service to follow at Monte Vista Memorial Gardens in Johnson City at 3 p.m.

JOHNSON CITY - Nancy Howren, 66, of Johnson City, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Elizabethton.

Nancy lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Clifford and Lucille Hagy.

Nancy graduated from Science Hill High School and East Tennessee State University with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught for Johnson City Schools at Northside, King Springs and Cherokee Elementary Schools. Nancy was a dedicated teacher and enjoyed many years at Cherokee Elementary teaching Kindergarten students. She will be remembered for her bright smile, vibrant personality, and caring nature with family, friends, and students.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother Ron Hagy.

Left to cherish Nancy’s memory include her son, Brandon Hopson of Chicago, Ill; grandchildren, Lilly Hopson, Owen Hopson, and Ayden Hopson; sisters, Teresa Bailey of Lone Star, TX, Jamie Harris and husband Randy of Unicoi, TN; cousin, Randi Perry; sister-in-law, Joan Hagy; special friend, Evelyn Tripodi; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the kind staff at American House of Johnson City assisted living facility, who cared for Nancy for the past year.

The family of Nancy Howren will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 2 PM Wednesday in the Roselawn Memorial Park.
