    Notes:

    Maxine Imler Swanner of Telford, TN passed away Monday, July 1, 2019 at the age of 91 in the presence of family & friends. Born May 20, 1928 in Unicoi County, she was the daughter of the late D.E. Imler and Lincoln & Minnie Tilson.

    In addition to being a Wife, Mother, Grannie and friend to many, Maxine worked many years in the sewing industry at Levi Strauss, Greeneville Manufacturing, Woods Manufacturing & later retiring from Baxter Pharmaceuticals. She attended & was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School classes for several years. After retirement she remained active with local churches, the Jonesborough Senior Center, visiting patients in local nursing homes as well as visiting family & friends.

    In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Cad J. Swanner; son, Farrell Swanner; grandson, Jamie Swanner; stepgrandsons Ricky & John Cable; Sister & Brother - Kathleen Pierson & Jack Imler.

    Left to treasure lifetime memories of Maxine include three sons & four daughters-in-law: James & Cindy Swanner, Darrell & Shelby Swanner, Glen & Janis Swanner and Brenda Swanner; stepdaughter Elnora Cable. Grandchildren are: David (Victoria), Jacob (Gabi)and Cody Swanner. Three step grandchildren: Patty (Rick) Whitehead, Harry (Donna) Cable and Bobby Cable. Two great grandchildren - James & Max Swanner; several great stepchildren. Siblings include Jewel Martin, Dorothy Toohey (Don), and Tom Tilson (Shirley). Several nieces and nephews. Special friends who were like daughters - Sarah Roberts, Mae Swanner (Bob Lucas), Janice Berger (Franklin), & Tammy Maye ( Ronnie). Special friend Velma McKee.

    Pallbearers will be Glen, Cody, David, & Jacob Swanner, Bob Lucas, and Ronnie Maye.

    The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the State of Franklin Palliative Care, Dr. Kevin Sweet, and especially the staff of Amedisys Home Health & Amedisys Hospice for all the care extended to Maxine & her family during our last earthly journey together with Maxine.

    At Maxine’s request, a graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Washington County Memory Gardens (113 Memory Gardens Drive, Johnson City, TN) with Reverend Charles Morgan officiating.

    Elnora T. Swanner Cable, 84, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at Signature Health Care of Elizabethton.
    Elnora was a retired CNA, having worked at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center and at several local nursing homes.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, James Cad and Maxine Swanner of Telford; her husband, Grant U. Cable Sr.; two sons, Rick “Grant Jr.” in 2012, and John F. Cable in 2016; a brother, Farrell Swanner; and a nephew, Jamie Swanner.
    Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Patty (Rick) Whitehead; sons, Harry (Donna) Cable and Bobby Cable; her brothers, Jimmy (Cindy) Swanner, Darrell (Shelby) Swanner and Glen (Janice) Swanner; her grandchildren, Christy Cable, April (Mitch) Whitehead, Jamie (Heather) Moser, Ashley (Jeremy) Kennedy and Stormie Cable; special great-grandchildren, Grant White, Ethen Cable, Abagayle Cable and Aiden Moser; and several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins.

    Elnora married Grant Ulysses Cable, Sr. on 9 Sep 1952 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Grant (son of William Ulysses Grant Cable and Myrtle Danford Stout) was born on 12 Nov 1930 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee; died on 16 Oct 1991 in Monroe County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Mountain Home National Cemetery, , Washington County, Tennessee.     Notes:

    Farrell D. Swanner, 63 years of age, of Kingsport, TN, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at his residence with his family by his side following a courageous battle with cancer. He loved spending time with his family and friends, loved the outdoors, spending time on his pontoon boat and loved the beach.

    He was born in Washington County, TN and lived in Kingsport for the past 11 years. Farrell graduated from Washington College Academy in 1968 and attended ETSU in the early 70's. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1968 to 1970. Farrell served in the Vietnam War and was a member of the National Guard in Gate City, VA. He was a member of Fair View Baptist Church in Kingsport and loved studying the Bible.

    Farrell was preceded in death by his father, Cad Swanner and nephews, Jamie Swanner and Ricky Cable.

    He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Brenda Babb Swanner and son, Cody Swanner of the home; step-daughter, Dawn Carter of Gate City, VA; step-son, Jason Egan and wife, Ashley of Clinchport, VA; four step-grandchildren; loving mother, Maxine Swanner of Telford, TN; twin brother, Darrell Swanner and wife, Shelby of Church Hill, TN, and brother, Jim Swanner and wife, Cindy of Jonesborough, TN and brother, Glen Swanner and wife, Janis of Jonesborough, TN; two nephews, Jacob and David Swanner; and step-sister, Elnora Cable of Elizabethton, TN.

    The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 16th from 6-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, and at anytime at 1325 Tranbarger Drive off of Lynn Avenue. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 pm with Pastor Travis Pierson and Pastor Jamie Reynold officiating. Singers will be Lee Smith and family.

    Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, January 17th at 11:00 am at Washington County Memorial Gardens. Military Rites will be conducted by American Legion Posts 3/265 and theTennessee Army National Guard.

    Pallbearers will be Harold Jones, Jim Benton, Ivan Cannon, Jimmy Babb, David and Jacob Swanner and Garnie Snavely. Honorary pallbearer will be Ray McDavid.

    The family would like to thank all of the wonderful doctors and nurses at the VA in Johnson City and a special thank you to his angels in the oncology department. They would also like to thank all of the Hospice Caregivers that spent time with him.
