William Thomas "Bill" Hughes

William "Bill" Thomas Hughes, age 88, of Ten Mile, went home to be with the Lord Monday, October 14, 2013. He was born March 27, 1925 in Erwin, Tennessee and was a retired truck driver for Levi Strauss. Bill was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and was a 3rd degree Mason with Paint Rock Masonic Lodge No. 367. He was a avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, camping, fishing and anything to do with the outdoors. One of the family's most fond memories is how he would wake each morning singing songs from years gone by or make up lyrics to songs as he went along. His favorite scripture is found in St. John 14:1-3, which tells us to not let our hearts be troubled because there is a better day coming. Preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Louise Hughes; son, William Douglas Hughes; daughter. Tara Marlene Hughes; parents, Holden & Mollie Peterson Hughes; sisters, Ruth Jones, Ellie Lewis, Lela McNeese; brothers, Earl Hughes, Starlin Hughes, Virgil Hughes, C.B. Hughes and Walter Hughes.
