    JOHNSON CITY - Louis Allen “Dickie” Hamilton, age 71, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020 at NHC of Johnson City. He was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, a son of the late Robert E. and Ruth Vest Hamilton.

    Dickie was a star athlete at Boones Creek High School class of 1968. He was known for his excellent basketball skills and played the guard position. Dickie was selected to play on the varsity team in his 8th grade year of school. He also played on the baseball team as the pitcher. He was of the Presbyterian faith, and had worked for the Johnson City Power Board and Pepsi. He loved watching University of Tennessee Basketball and Little League World Series games.

    He is survived by two brothers, Bobby Jack Hamilton and wife Brenda, and Charles W. Hamilton and wife Shirley; three sisters, Betty Walker, Carolyn Miller, and Judy Kilinsky and husband James; and several nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow with Evangelist Toonie Cash officiating. Committal Service and Interment will be held Friday, January 31, 2020 at 11:00 AM in Monte Vista Funeral Home Chapel. The interment will be Section I at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
