    She was 89. Mrs. Colbert was born on January 29, 1930 in Jonesboro, Tennessee, the daughter of Courtney Haire and Flora Sherfey. Her sister was the late Emma Haire Smith.

    She was employed by Piedmont Airlines for several years before becoming a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and travel. She is survived by two daughters, Ann Colbert Locker, her husband John, their two children, Ben and Abby, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Dawn Colbert Cimperman, her husband Ralph, and their three children, Tom, Megan, and Madison of Alpharetta, Georgia; her son, Scott Colbert, and his wife Anne.

    She lived her last years near her daughter in Alpharetta, Georgia

    Mrs. Archer was born in Washington County and the daughter of the late I.N. & Polly Deyton Haire. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Harold Archer, two brothers, Boone Lee Haire and Floyd "Bud" Haire and a grandson-in-law, Chris Johnson.

    She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.

    Survivors include four children, Ronnie Archer (Betty), Kenny Archer (Gail), Janice Weaver (Phil), and Judy Harris (Tim); grandchildren, Mike Archer (Angie), Becky Cox, Jana Archer, Jessica Johnson, Chad Harris (Kim); great-grandchildren, Madison Metcalf (Logan) and Mason Harris; sisters-in-law, Louise Davidson and Katherine Archer; special family members, Angela Bates, Kelly Daniel, Kristy Loflin, Rusty Weaver, Jennifer Maher, Debbie Moore, Linda Maxwell, Vickie Shipley & their families.

    The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Cornerstone Village, Avalon Hospice and Dr. Stephanie Manginelli.

    The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor John H. Moore and Pastor Cindy Paxton officiating.

    Pallbearers will be Chad Harris, Logan Metcalf, Mike Archer, Ralph Fulkerson, Bertin Perez, Jimmy Rash, Sam Shipley and Mark Shelton. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Davidson, Wayne Moore, Rick Maxwell and Arthur Deyton.

    William Reaves Clark, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at the young age of 96.
    Mr. Clark was born July 28, 1926, in Knob Creek Community, Johnson City, Tenn. He was the son of the late John Bowman Clark Jr. and Grace Thornburg Clark. He was also preceded in death by his wife of over 30 years, Goldie Hyder Wallace Clark; brothers, Maynard Clark (Ruby)) and Ollen Clark (Virginia), sister, Betty Sue Clark Fulkerson (Ralph), and stepdaughter, Donnie Murphy (Bob).
    William R. Clark served in World War II, Armored Tank Division from 1944 through 1948, and was promoted to Sergeant 8/2/1948. He served as an Interior guard at the Palace of Justice (Nuremberg Trials), and the International Military Tribunal Prison, Nuremberg, Germany.
    Mr. Clark graduated Daniel Boone High School, Gray, Tenn., and Tampa Business College (Tampa, Fla.). He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Elizabethton, Tenn.
    Mr. Clark retired after 34 years of service from the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad; later renamed CSX Railroad.
    He loved gardening, bicycling, cooking, long strolls, yard saling, but most of all, he loved his family and friends!
    Survivors include: sister, Dorothy J. Whittington (Glen); sister-in-law, Virginia Payne Clark; sons, John William Clark (Marcia), David Joseph Clark (Sue), Wayne Brigham Clark (Sandy); stepsons, Romley Wallace (Lena) and Alton Wallace; grandchildren, Matthew W. Clark (fiancee Carrie Bradley), Chase M. Sterling (Choice), Daniel D. Clark (Stephanie), Michael W. Clark (Latosha), John Bowman Clark; nieces and nephews, Karen Woodby (Michael), Michael Clark, Robbin Arnold (Stan), Keith Whittington (Lynda), Dennis Whittington (Carol), Lorie Wood (Donald), Ralph Fulkerson Jr. (Amy), and son-in-law, Bob Murphy.

    Mrs. Betty Sue Clark Fulkerson, age 89, Jonesborough, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at her residence.

    Mrs. Fulkerson was born December 28, 1931 at her home in the Knob Creek Community and the daughter of the late John C. Clark, Jr. & Grace Thornburg Clark. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Maynard Clark and Ollen Clark.

    She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and past member of Knob Creek Church of the Brethren. She loved serving at her church by cooking and working various missions.
    Mrs. Fulkerson was a great cook, loved people, loved baking cakes, water color painting, enjoyed and shared a passion with Ralph of Western Square Dancing for over 60 years, she was always by his side and she was his connection to all the dancers. She was a supportive wife and mother to her family. She always wanted us to know she loved us more. She was a faithful friend and hard worker.

    Survivors include her beloved husband of 69 years, Ralph Fulkerson; daughter, Karen Woodby (Mike); son, Ralph Fulkerson, Jr. (Amy); grandchildren, Aubrey Fulkerson (Katie), Erin Evans (Chris) and Kristie Brown (Chris); great-grandchildren, Emma, Theo and Lily; brother, William R. Clark; sister, Dorothy J. Whittington (Glen); sister-in-law, Virginia Payne Clark; close friends, Patsy Cumbow, Joan Seaver, Eva Carter & Barbara Ledford; and several nephews and nieces

    Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Rusty Taylor and Pastor Randall Emmert officiating. Friends may come by Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home from 9:00-1:00 pm Saturday to view Mrs. Fulkerson and sign the register book.

    Pallbearers will be Kenny Archer, David Fraiser, Rusty Mitchell, Joe Carr, Pete Sokol, Mike Woodby and Aubrey Fulkerson. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Lewis and Mike Ward.

    The family would like to extend a special thank you to caregiver, Teresa Hellriegel, Home Instead, Tammy Saults, Laurie Miller and the SOFA Staff for their wonderful care.
