Virginia Mae Rogers

Notes:

She was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Viola Rose Lane Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Joe Hamby Sr; a son, Bobby Joe Hamby; a daughter, Kathy Mae Hamby Holbrook and a brother, Chester J. Rogers.

She was an Electronics Engineer at Texas Instruments, from where she retired after many years.

Virginia was a member of East Watauga Avenue Baptist Church.

The graveside funeral service was conducted Monday, October 13, 2014, at Monte Vista Memorial Park at 11AM.

Virginia married Marion Keith Burgner on 9 Feb 1947 in Washintgon County, , , Tennessee. Marion (son of Robert Bruce Burgner and Lillie A. Garber) was born on 10 Dec 1912 in Iowa, , , ; died on 28 Jun 1969 in Washintgon County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Cherokee Community Cemetery, , Washington County, Tennessee. Virginia married Oscar Joe Hamby on 9 Feb 1947 in Washintgon County, , , Tennessee. Oscar (son of Jade D. Hamby and Mae Hammund) was born about 1925 in Washintgon County, , , Tennessee; died about 1994 in Washintgon County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Monte Vista Memorial Park, , Washington County, Tennessee. JONESBOROUGH - Carlotta Rose Rudd (Rosey) went home to be with the Lord, Friday, September 13, 2019 at the Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was the daughter of the late Marion Burgner and Oscar Joe and Virginia Hamby. She was proceeded in death by brother, Bobby Joe Hamby, sisters, Cathy Holbrook and Karen Davis, and daughter Susan Rudd Mackeraghan.

Carlotta was a member of East Watauga Ave Baptist Church in Johnson City, where she loved to sing in the choir. She was a graduate of Happy Valley High School and retired from Sears.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband Max Rudd, daughter Rebecca Bell (Gary), Sons: Daniel Gross (Lisa), Travis Rudd, Steve Rudd, Greg Rudd (Mary Lou). Sister Elizabeth Hammonds, Brothers John Hamby (Kay), Oscar Joe Hamby Jr (Mari), Robert Keith Burgner, 1 aunt, several uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Grandchildren: Lucas Timbs, Steven Timbs, Hannah Gross, Will Gross, Steven Matthew Rudd II and 4 Great Grandchildren. Special friends she loved like sisters: Pat Karriker and Michelle Gourley.

The family would like to thank the Johnson City Medical Center 7400 nursing staff and Dr. Keith Cook for the excellent care provided to Carlotta and her family.
