    George W. Malone, 90, 1975 Bristol Highway, Watauga, died Sunday, May 13, 2001, at Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
    Mr. Malone was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Robert and Nora Massengill Malone. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bertie Pate Malone, May 18, 1983, several brothers and sisters, and a grandson, Paul Rexroat.
    Mr. Malone was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He was a retired concrete finisher with J.E. Greene Construction Company.
    Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dorsie and Corine Malone, Riverside, Calif.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Nancy and Jon Rexroat, Corona, Calif., Charlotte Wilson, Glassboro, N.J., and Jeanette and Jerry Reece, Watauga; eight grandchildren; a brother, Joe Malone, Johnson City; and a special friend, Paulette Malone, Watauga. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

    MALONE -- Funeral services for George W. Malone, 90, 1975 Bristol Highway, Watauga, who died Sunday, May 13, 2001, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with the Rev. Haskel Ingram officiating. Music will be under the direction of Patty Hodge, soloist. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, at Malone Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Terry Bennett, Job Woods, John David Malone, Frank Cross, Travis Norris and Richard Pilk. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Smith, Lib Lyons, Dr. Eugene Galloway, Gene Oaks and James Bennett.

    George married Bertie Pate about 1932 in , Giles County, Tennessee, . Bertie was born about 1911; died on 18 May 1983 in , Giles County, Tennessee, ; was buried in Malone Cemetery, , Sullivan County, Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
