    Ida Sue Huskins, age 64, of Erwin, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at her home. She was a native of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late Isham and Rosa Starnes Wilson. Ida worked for the VA for 25 years as an Accounting Technician. She was a member of Canah Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Huskins loved her grandchildren and working in her flowers. In addition to her parents, Ida Sue Huskins is preceded in death by her first husband, James P. Shelton and brothers, Ed Wilson and Sherman Wilson.

    A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family of Ide Sue Huskins will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday at Valley Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Simmons officiating. Vocal selections will be provided by Debbie Bailey. A committal service will follow at Bumpass Cove Cemetery on Saturday. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Huskins, Dwight Huskins, Lee Huskins, Jeff Huskins, Richard Wilson, and Charles "Chuck" Wilson.

    Nancy, raised in Embreeville (Bumpass Cove), lived most of her adult life in Washington DC and the Maryland area.

    She returned to call Erwin home. Before she retired, she worked with admitting in the ER Dept at the old Unicoi Co. Hosp. She is survived by her daughter, Carla Jo; grandson, David John; son, Charles Wilson; granddaughters, Charlee and Amber Rose; brother-in-law, Butch Huskins; sisters-in-law, Luell, and Sonya; and many special nieces and nephews that she spoiled and loved very much! Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Isham and Rosa Wilson; sisters, Barbara Jean Huskins (Herman) and Ida Sue Huskins; brothers, Edd and Sherman Wilson; brother- in-law, Brush Shelton, all of Erwin; and lifelong friend, Patsy Douglas of Gray, TN.

    She will rest peacefully at Bumpass Cove Cemetery. Dementia creates a difficult time for the caregivers, and a longing for "normal" for the person living in that confusing world.
