Notes:

Kenny Vance, age 65, of Cranberry, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, at his home surrounded by loving family and friends. A native of Banner Elk, he was a son of the late Leon Vance and Ethel Vance Painter. He was also preceded in death by a Daughter: Travis Nicole Vance, who passed away in 2006; a Brother: Allen Vance and a Niece: Robin Greene. Kenny was a house painter for over 35 years.

Surviving is his former wife and best friend: Penny Partington Vance; Mother-in-law: Mary Ellen Partington of Cranberry; Brother: Robert Vance (Sheila) of Newland; Nieces and Nephews: Sherry Lee (Chad) of Newland, Shane Vance (Chasity) of Blacksburg, SC and K.C. Rodriguez (Dom) of Rochester, NY; special Friends: Jacqueline Trivette of Roan Mountain, Tenn., David Field of Newland, David Stout of Morganton, Bobby Clouser of Elk Park, Cindy and Mike Turbyfill and Cranberry and Tammy and Billy Brooks of Elizabethton, Tenn.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, in the Heaton Cemetery. Rev. Barry Sheppard and Willie Turbyfill will officiate.

Robin Vance Greene, age 47, of Newland, NC passed away on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019, at Cannon Memorial Hospital in Linville, NC.

She was born on Jan. 1, 1972, in Crossnore, NC, a daughter of Robert Vance and Sheila Brewer Vance.

She was preceded in death by her Grandfather: Buster Brewer; Two Grandmothers: Virgie Brewer and Ethel Painter; Special Nephew: Tyler Newsome; Uncle: Sam Brewer.

Robin was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Newland. She enjoyed cats, flea markets, shopping, Facebooking and sightseeing. She enjoyed spending time with her nephews and all of her family. She also enjoyed listening to country music.

Robin leaves behind to cherish her memory her Husband of 25 years: Donald Greene of Newland, NC; Parents: Robert (Shelia) Vance of Newland, NC; Sister: Sherry (Chad) Lee of Newland, NC; two Special Nephews: Cayden and Carson Lee of Newland, NC, Mother-In-Law: Katy Lee of Newland, NC; Uncle: Kenny (Penny) Vance of Cranberry, NC; Very Special Cat: Ruby; and several Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins.

Services for Robin Vance Greene were held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, at the Church of Jesus Christ in Newland, with Rev. Dave Atkins officiating.

The family received friends beginning at 6 p.m. until the service hour at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ in Newland.

Interment was held at the Church of Jesus Christ Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019.
