Mrs. Veva Ridge Ellis, age 72, of Lenoir City, died Wednesday, February 3, at Johnson's Nursing Home.

She was a member of Silver Ridge Baptist Church in Lenoir City.

She was the widow of James H. Ellis.

Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. W.E. Parkinson, Mrs. T.E. McCarroll, Mrs. Gene Shaver, all of Lenoir City, Mrs. H.D. Waggoner, Denver, Tennessee, Mrs. John H. McNabb, Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Mrs. Doug Robbins, Inkston [Inkster], Michigan; son, Glen Ellis, Lenoir City; 26 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Frank King, Concord, Mrs. W.W. Jett, Knoxville, Mrs. Lester Swanner, Powell; brothers, R.H. Ridge, Lenoir City, C.R. Ridge, Atlanta, Georgia.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday February 6 at Click's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joe Wampler and Reverend Elmer Summey officiating. Burial was in Lenoir City Cemetery. Click's in Lenoir City was in charge.

Veva married James Henry Ellis about 1918. James (son of James Alexander Ellis and Alice Jane Manning) was born on 3 Dec 1896 in Mitchell County, , , North Carolina; died on 11 Oct 1959 in Loudon County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Lenoir City Cemetery, , Loudon County, Tennessee. Mary Nell Ellis Shaver, 77, of Lenoir City, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 8, 2000, at her home. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lenoir City and was preceded in death by parents, James H. and Veva Ridge Ellis; brother, Glen Ellis; and sister, Margaret McCarroll.

Survivors include her husband, Gene Shaver; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Pam Shaver of Lenoir City, Gene Jr. and Valerie Shaver of Smyrna; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and John Richesin of Knoxville, Jill and Danie Belasco of Knoxville; sisters, Freida McNabb, Alice Robbins, Mildred Parkerson, all of Lenoir City, and Nora Plant of Waverly; 13 grand-children, four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dick DeMerchant and Rev. Bill Wilkinson officiating. Burial will follow in Loudon County Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Nora Elizabeth Ellis Waggoner Plant, age 83, of New Johnsonville, TN, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014, at her home. Mrs. Plant was born September 10, 1930, in Lenoir City, TN, to James Henry and Viva Lou Olive Ridge Ellis. She was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church in New Johnsonville, TN and the Pisgah United Methodist Women. She was retired and had worked as a Sales Clerk at The Quality Store in Waverly, TN, and a Cafeteria Worker for Lakeview School in New Johnsonville, TN.
Interment in the J. Warren Cemetery in New Johnsonville, TN.
Active pallbearers will be Brad Lee Wilson, Michael Odom, William Christopher Hemby, James Anthony DeMoss, Jonathan Wade DeMoss, Casey Alexander Waggoner, Jeremy Don Waggoner, and Joseph Quinton Waggoner. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Daniel Waggoner and Justin Andrew DeMoss.

Freida B. McNabb - age 79 of Lenoir City passed away Wednesday evening, January 21, 2015. Freida was a member of First Baptist Church Lenoir City where she taught the Second Grade Sunday School Class for 34 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James H. and Veva Ellis; grandson, J. Chris McNabb; siblings, Mildred Parkerson, Margaret McCarroll, Mary Nell Shaver, Nora Waggoner Plant, Glenn Ellis, and Alice Faye Robbins.

Survived by her husband of 62 years, John Henry McNabb; children: Johnny (Sue Ellen) McNabb, Jimmy (Judy) McNabb, Kathy (Rex) Hogan, Kim Lintner, Kelley (Mark) Robinson, and Jeff (Lisa) McNabb; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 23rd at First Baptist Church in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Dr. Dick DeMerchant officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 10:30 Saturday morning and proceed to the Loudon Co. Memorial Gardens for 11 a.m. graveside services.
