    ERWIN - Kyle Dean Hensley, age 80, Erwin, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 6, 2019 at his residence, while he was surrounded by his loving family.

    He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a son of the late Joseph "Joe" Roscoe and Lucy Tolley Hensley.

    Kyle was a member of Mountain Dale Freewill Baptist Church. He retired from NFS with over thirty-five years of service.

    Kyle was an avid fisherman and he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Hensley and two sisters: Irene Tipton and Zelta Bagby.

    He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of fifty-nine years, Carolyn Wilson Hensley; two daughters: Sandy Hensley (Allen), Erwin and Amy McLaughlin (Pastor Todd), Unicoi; four grandchildren: Joshua Hensley, Lori Hensley, Ashley McLaughlin, Alyssa McLaughlin; one great grandson, Bentley Collins; two brothers: Reverend Arnold Hensley (Marsha), Erwin, and George Hensley (Sharrol) Green Mountain, NC; two sisters: Glasie Peterson (R.L.) and Kathleen Cooper (Wayne), all of Erwin; brother-in-law, Stanley Tipton, Erwin; several nieces and nephews also survive.

    The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 in the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Todd McLaughlin will officiate at the 2:00 PM funeral service. Committal service will follow in the Evergreen Mausoleum. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
