Eliese Joan Silvers

ERWIN - Joan Silvers McCurry, age 83, of Erwin, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Christian Care Center of Unicoi County.

She is a daughter of the late Harley and Kate Guinn Silvers. Joan was a native of Unicoi County, before moving to Miami, FL in 1954. She returned to Erwin in 1981.

Joan was a member of Central Baptist Church, in Erwin. She was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family and friends, going shopping and out to eat. She also enjoyed making candy and cookies to give to friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William B. McCurry, Jr. (Bill), Sister, Anita Silvers Sonerholm, Brothers, Joel and Wendell Blake Silvers.

Joan Silvers McCurry leaves behind to cherish her memory:

Sister: Rita Silvers Dunkerly and her husband Glen of Las Vegas, Nevada:

Several Nieces and Nephews;

Special Friend who was like a daughter: Julie Ann Moore of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Miami, FL, and Julie's parents, Bob and Phyllis Moore, and brother, Bob Moore III, all of Miami, FL.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Joan Silvers McCurry in a funeral service to be held at 1:00PM Saturday, September 7, 2019 in the chapel of Valley Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Wiley officiating and musical selections provided by Libby Hatcher, pianist, and Gary Amos, soloist. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 12:00PM and continue until the hour of service at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside committal service will follow the funeral at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be the deacons of Central Baptist Church.
