    Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Ottinger, 68, who died Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Walter Ragan of Jonesboro, Route 3, will be held Saturday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock at Salem, near Parrotsville.

    Widow of the late Ulysses Ottinger of Cocke County, Mrs. Ottinger is survived by three daugters, Mrs. Ragan and Mrs. Earl Jones and Miss Vina Ottinger of Johnson City; two sons, Earl and Clayton Ottinger of Jonesboro, and several grandchildren.

    Pallbearers will be selected from friends of the family.

    Mrs. Vina Ottinger Campbell, 87, Four Oaks Health Care Center, Jonesborough, formerly of Woodland Place, died Tuesday, Feb 5, 2002 at the center.

    Mrs. Campbell was a Cocke County native and had Alived in Johnson City for most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Ulyses and Ada (Ida) Ottinger.

    Mrs. Campbell retired from the Johnson City Memorial Hospital.

    She was a Christian.

    Mrs Campbell was preceded in death by her husband Walter E. H. Campbell, in 1995; two stepsons,Billy J. Campbell and Roy Lee Campbell;and several brothers and sisters.

    Survivors include one sister, Vena Jones, Johnson City; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

    UNICOI — Ulyess Franklin Ragan, age 82, 115 Honeycutt Road, Unicoi, passed away at 12:05 A.M. Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

    Mr. Ragan was a native of Washington County, having lived in Unicoi County for many years. He was a son of the late Earnest Franklin and Delta Ottinger Ragan. He was a very devoted and loving father and was a very special friend to all.

    Mr. Ragan attended Lighthouse Baptist Church.

    In addition to parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Beulah D. Taylor Ragan; and his second wife, Evelyn L. Sams Ragan; one grandson, Sam Seeley; one sister, Viola Hammitt; and one brother, Ivis Ragan.

    Mr. Ragan is survived by four sons: Everett Ragan and wife, Judy, Unicoi, Rick Ragan and wife, Denise, Johnson City, Steve Ragan, Kingsport, Terry Ragan and wife, Ann, Unicoi; six daughters: Nancy Simcox and husband, Junior, Limestone, Becky Seeley, Unicoi, Debbie Cowell and husband, Charles, Sandy Habra and husband, Larry, Libby Wise and husband, Jay, and Robin Leonard and husband, Michael, all of Johnson City; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Dallas Ragan and wife, Mary, Johnson City; several nieces and nephews; cousin, Paul Ragan and his daughter, Ruthie, Greeneville.

    Funeral service for Mr. Ragan will be at 8:00 P.M. Friday, January 27, 2012, from the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Steve Rice and Reverend Jerry Cornett will officiate. Special music will be provided by Melissa Tipton, Bobby Tipton, Sharon Mason and Inez Chandler.

    Active pallbearers selected are Matt Ragan, Eric Ragan, Daniel Ragan, Terry Ragan, Garrett Gaddy, Chris Lee, Stacy Tipton and Jay Wise. Honorary pallbearers selected are Russell Murphy, Michael Leonard, Stevie McLemore and Andy Gaddy.

    JOHNSON CITY - Dallis Edward Ragan, age 86 of Johnson City, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 in the Johnson City Medical Center.

    He was a son of the late Earnest and Della Ottinger Ragan, born to them on November 17, 1932 in Johnson City, Tennessee. Dallis was a member of the Gravel Hill Baptist Church and attended Knob Creek Church of the Brethren. He united in marriage to Mary Sue Dugger and to this union, four loving children were born. He enjoyed watching races, working in his flower gardens and most of all, he enjoyed rocking in his rocking chair on his front porch.

    Along with his parents, Dallis is preceded in death by two brothers: Ulyss Ragan and Ivis Ragan; One sister: Viola Hammitt; and his son: Jeff Ragan.

    He is survived by his loving wife: Mary Sue Ragan; His children: Ron Ragan (Lisa), Jimmy (Freda) and Debbie Harris (Ricky); His grandchildren: Joshua, Jamie, Nikki, Brandon, Brittany, Corey, Whitney and Brian; His great-grandchildren: Bentley, Kylah, Lilli, Shannon, Damien, Evan, Owen and Raelynn.

    Funeral services for Dallis Edward Ragan will be conducted on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services of Johnson City with Pastor Larry Dugger officiating. Burial will follow in the East Tennessee Cemetery in Blountville with family members and friends serving as pallbearers.

    Hubert Johnny Ottinger passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 15th 2021. Johnny was a long-time resident at Agape nursing home. He was a sweet man who always had a smile on his face and an occasional trick up his sleeve for the nurses.

    Johnny worked for many years in the Johnson City School Systems as a custodian and retired in 2002 after the passing of his wife, Cathy Ottinger. Johnny was a man of faith and lived his life serving others. He was a life-long member at the Johnson City Seventh Day Adventist Church where he served as a deacon for many years.

    Johnny never met a stranger and had a smile for everyone he met. In his free time, Johnny loved going to auctions and finding trinkets and treasures for his family. He loved to brighten the lives of others by gifting them with one of his special finds. He was loved and adored by all who knew him.

    Johnny was a Nascar fan. Sunday was his day to spend time with the family and watch the races. He loved a nice meal, a good race, and a long nap in his recliner. Johnny will be missed but never forgotten.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy Nelson Ottinger in 2002; his parents, Earl and Opal Murray Ottinger; a sister, Jearel Dale and a brother, Lester Gene Ottinger.

    Survivors include three children, Kim Wickerham and husband, Todd of Matthews, NC, Dallas Jimmy Johnson of Jonesborough and Terry Johnson and wife, Charity of Elizabethton; nieces and nephews, Troy Dale and wife, Rachel, Lisa Leonard and husband, Robert, Tony Ottinger, Lisa Parker and husband, Mark and Dawn Covad; grandchildren, Cathryn, Holden and Chase Wickerham, Isaac, Elizabeth, Lily and Zeke Johnson; also several great nieces and nephews.

    Graveside services for Johnny will be conducted at 1:30 PM Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Eden-Greenwood Cemetery, 1620 Mill Springs Road, Jonesborough with Pastor Rob Lechner officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from the family and friends.
