Mrs. Ida Jane Dugger Cable Rt. 2, Butler, died yesterday in the Carter County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Johnson County and a member of Meadowview Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cable is survived by two daughters, Marie Cable, Knoxville and Mrs. Margie Bunton, Flint, Michigan. Also two sons, Howard and Odie of the home, survive along with two sisters, Susie Dugger, Elizabethton and Mrs. Ada Grogan, Portland, Ore. And a brother, Bob Dugger, Route 6, Johnson City. Ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren survive.
Mrs. Cable was preceeded in death by her husband Jerd Cable in 1961. Appalachian Funeral Home in Johnson City is in charge of arrangements.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Cable will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Sugar Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Lawrence Hagaman and Rev. Alvin Hicks officiating. Active pallbearers, who are requested to be at the Church at 1:30 are, Raymond Campbell, David Dugger, Delmas Bunton, Tommy Conway, Howard Cable, Frank Cable. Friends and neighbors will serve as flowerbearer. Music will be in charge of the Hardin Brothers Quartet. The body will be taken to the former resident at 1 p.m. tomorrow. Friends can call at the home at any time. Burial wil be in the Crosswhite Cemetery.

Howard married Neata Pauline Lunceford on 24 Dec 1932 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee. Neata (daughter of Robert Cornelius Lunceford and Laura A. Crosswhite) was born on 4 Mar 1914 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee; died on 3 Mar 2003 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Crosswhite Cemetery, , Johnson County, Tennessee. BUNTON, Margie Marie - Age 94, died April 29, 2009 at Genesys Regional Medical Center, Grand Blanc. Funeral services 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Pastor Carl Petty officiating. Interment to follow at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. The family will receive friends Friday from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Vaughn's Christmas Fund. Mrs. Bunton was born on October 23, 1914 in Butler, Tennessee, daughter of the late Jerd and Ida Cable. Margie married Spencer Bunton in 1931 and she moved to Flint in 1954 with her family. Left to cherish her memories are daughter Daisy Silket of Spencer, West Virginia, Ulis (June) Bunton of Flint, Frank (Connie) Bunton of Flint, Jackie (Rachel) Bunton of Birch Run, Jimmie (Gail) Bunton of Davison and Pat Rowlett of Grand Blanc. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Spencer Bunton, son Dallas Bunton, grandson Jackie Bunton, Jr. and son-in-law Charles Silket.

Laura Alberta Stanbery, age 81 of Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was born on January 8, 1936 to the late H.C. and Pauline Lunsford Cable. In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Stanbery; one daughter, Linda Farthing; one son, Cecil Stanberry and his wife Louise.

Laura enjoyed working outside in her yard and flower and vegetable gardens. She especially enjoyed spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren. Laura worked for the Johnson County School System in the food service department for over 25 years. She was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memories include her children: Michelle and husband David of the home, Barbara Norris and husband Glenn of Butler, TN and Teresa Lawrence and husband Steve of Hickory, NC; sisters: Ida Lee Arney of Mountain City, TN and Elena Arney and husband Glenn of Butler, TN; brother, Elbert Cable and wife JoAnn; grandchildren: Chad Guy, Ethan Guy, Renee Guy, Scott Norris, Angie Norris, Tammy Farthing, Lisa Miller, Jeff Farthing, Chasity Townsend and David Fletcher; twelve great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her church family.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2017 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastors Ray Greene and Richard Jones officiating.

Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Sugar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Dugger, Dwayne Arney, Doug Arney, Matt Eggers, Brian Curtis, Eric Fagan and Dan Arney. Honorary pallbearers are Glenn Norris, Steve Lawrence, David Guy, Jimmy Cable, Raymond Campbell, Delmas Bunton, Lester Reece and Doug Arnold.
