    Mrs. Mary Christine Harrison Critcher, age 90, of Boone, wife of the late Willie Mack "Will" Critcher, died Monday morning, June 6, 2005, at the Watauga Medical Center.

    She was born April 15, 1915, in the Bamboo community of Watauga County to the late Newton Leonard and Mary Eliza Harrison Harrison.

    Mrs. Critcher was a homemaker and a longtime member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church.

    Survivors include two sons, and two daughters, one stepson, and one stepdaughter.
    She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a number of step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas Leonard Harrison and Roland Harrison; two sisters, Clara Pauline Harrison and Ruth Harrison; and a stepdaughter, Lavon Critcher Caudill.

    Burial followed in Mount Vernon Church Cemetery.

    Mr. John M. Harrison, age 87, of 13611 Rockridge Road, Lakeland, Florida, a native and former resident of Blowing Rock, the Boone Fork community, died Sunday February 18, 2007.

    Mr. Harrison was born March 3, 1919 in Watauga County a son of the late James Monroe and Minnie Bristol Harrison.

    He owned and operated a sawmill and was also a rock mason. He was a member of Boone Fork Baptist Church.

    Mr. Harrison is survived by his wife, Verla Norman Harrison of the home, three daughters; Bertha Mae Reece of Patterson, Beulah Howell and husband, Gene of Boone, Georgia Pearson and husband Bill of Blowing Rock, five sons; Donald Harrison and wife Sue, Scott Harrison and wife Judy, and David Harrison all of Blowing Rock, James Harrison and wife Barbara of Boone and Billy Harrison and wife Shirley of Lakeland, Florida. He is also survived by twenty nine grandchildren, fourty great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his father and mother, James Monroe and Minnie Bristol Harrison, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren, three sisters; Annie Harrison, Ester Harrison and Bertha Anderson, five brothers; Frank, Horace, Spencer, Ballard, Edd, and Paul Harrison.

    Burial will follow in the Boone Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.

    Weldon Jerry Critcher, age 68, of 4406 Bamboo Road, Boone, died October 17, 2015. He was born April 15, 1947 in Watauga County, NC. He was a retired homebuilder and custom cabinet maker, and a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Weldon served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a collector of antique Studebaker cars and was a member of the Boone Rural Fire Board.

    Weldon is survived by his wife, Margaret Roten Critcher of the home; two sons, Shannon Critcher and wife Leigh Ann of Millers Creek, and Travis Critcher and wife Athalia of Boone; one daughter, Kristy Hodges and husband Josh of Boone; four granddaughters, Bethany Critcher, Caroline Hodges, Sydni Critcher, and Zoe Critcher; five grandsons, Braxton Critcher, Jonathan Hodges, Josiah Critcher, Harrison Hodges, and Linden Critcher; three sisters, JoAnn Alessandrini of Salisbury, Wanda Scott and husband Bob of Shalotte, and Laura Higgins and husband Bobby of Boone, and two brothers, Bruce Cook and wife Sharon, and Mack Critcher, all of Boone. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, J.W. Critcher, and one sister, Lavon C. Caudill.

    Funeral services were held at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Greg Heisler. Military graveside rites and burial, provided by the United States Army, American Legion Post 130, and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 90, at Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.

    JOHNSON CITY - William Ray Harrison, 89, of Johnson City passed away on Friday September 13, 2019 at Lakebridge.

    A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Spencer and Alice Harvey Harrison. He was also preceded in death by three sisters: Gladys Scalf, Pauline Hodge, and Ann Coffey; and four brothers: Reynold Harrison, James Harrison, Kenneth Harrison, and Roy Wade Harrison. Mr. Harrison owned J.C. Barber & Beauty Supply and was also a barber. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Harrison was a Mason & Shriner.

    He is survived by his wife of 66 years: Frances Hunter Harrison, daughter Deborah McNeill (John), daughter, Cindy Williams, daughter Brenda Townsend (Kevin) all of Johnson City and daughter Lisa Yates (David) of Elizabethton. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Keila Smithpeters (Brian); Stacy Haas (Chris); Adam Williams (Christa), all of Johnson City and Jessie Rasnick (Matt) of Elizabethton and his great grandchildren: Easton, Gibson, Paisley, Sawyer, Cayden, Blaklie, and Annie Mae. Also, left to cherish his memory is Sherry Coffey, sister and Eugene Harrison, brother and several nieces and nephews. Graveside Service will be conducted at 1:45p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at the Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Jason Hoagland, officiating. The Carter County Honor Guard will provide military honors. Burial will follow the service. Active Pallbearers will be Grandsons & Son-in-laws.

    Kenneth Howard Harrison I, 72, 518 Academy Street, Elizabethton, Tn.. passed away Monday evening, June 20, 2005, at the V.A. Medical Center Hospital, Asheville, N.C., after a brief illness.

    Mr. Harrison was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Spencer Roosevelt and Alice Harvey Harrison.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Jonnie Timbs Harrison, a brother, Roy Wade Harrison, and a sister, Gladys Scalf.

    Mr. Harrison was a member and Sunday school teacher of Harmony Baptist Church, Elizabethton. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, AARP, and National Republican. He was a prominent Certified Public Accountant in Greene County, along with his wife and business partner, Jonnie Harrison, for many years.

    Mr. Harrison was a decorated Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army and also served one tour in the U.S. Air Force.

    Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Howard Harrison II and Feather Harrison, Afton; two daughters, Kimberly Franklin and Jeanie Harrison, both of Greene County; three grandchildren, Alvin Franklin Jr., of the U.S. Navy, Keera Franklin and Aaron Franklin, both of Chucky; four brothers, Bill Harrison, Johnson City, Jim Harrison and Reynold Harrison, both of Elizabethton, and Gene Harrison, of Florida; three sisters, Pauline Hodges, Tipp City, Ohio, Ann Coffey, Blowing Rock, N.C., and Sherry Coffey, Elizabethton; special friends, James Timbs, Afton, Gene and Brenda Timbs, Lawrence and Dixie Timbs, Wallace and Geneva Timbs, Fannie Taylor and Retha Hamm, all of Elizabethton, Carl and Marie Shelton, Joe and Shirley Cansler, Eddie and June Farris, Carol Jones and Rex and Vicki Solomon, all of Greeneville, David Peek, Chucky, and Rob Weaver, Greeneville.
