    Mrs. Mary Christine Harrison Critcher, age 90, of Boone, wife of the late Willie Mack "Will" Critcher, died Monday morning, June 6, 2005, at the Watauga Medical Center.

    She was born April 15, 1915, in the Bamboo community of Watauga County to the late Newton Leonard and Mary Eliza Harrison Harrison.

    Mrs. Critcher was a homemaker and a longtime member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church.

    Survivors include two sons, and two daughters, one stepson, and one stepdaughter.
    She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a number of step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas Leonard Harrison and Roland Harrison; two sisters, Clara Pauline Harrison and Ruth Harrison; and a stepdaughter, Lavon Critcher Caudill.

    Burial followed in Mount Vernon Church Cemetery.

    Christine married William Mack Critcher about 1940 in , Watauga County, North Carolina, North Carolina.     Weldon Jerry Critcher, age 68, of 4406 Bamboo Road, Boone, died October 17, 2015. He was born April 15, 1947 in Watauga County, NC. He was a retired homebuilder and custom cabinet maker, and a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Weldon served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a collector of antique Studebaker cars and was a member of the Boone Rural Fire Board.

    Weldon is survived by his wife, Margaret Roten Critcher of the home; two sons, Shannon Critcher and wife Leigh Ann of Millers Creek, and Travis Critcher and wife Athalia of Boone; one daughter, Kristy Hodges and husband Josh of Boone; four granddaughters, Bethany Critcher, Caroline Hodges, Sydni Critcher, and Zoe Critcher; five grandsons, Braxton Critcher, Jonathan Hodges, Josiah Critcher, Harrison Hodges, and Linden Critcher; three sisters, JoAnn Alessandrini of Salisbury, Wanda Scott and husband Bob of Shalotte, and Laura Higgins and husband Bobby of Boone, and two brothers, Bruce Cook and wife Sharon, and Mack Critcher, all of Boone. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, J.W. Critcher, and one sister, Lavon C. Caudill.

    Funeral services were held at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Greg Heisler. Military graveside rites and burial, provided by the United States Army, American Legion Post 130, and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 90, at Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.
