    Dallas Glenn Parker, age 78, of 496 Taft Eggers Lane, passed away, Friday, April 19, 2019, at his residence following an extended illness. Dallas was born December 1, 1940, in Elizabethton, Tennessee to the late Loyd Parker and Vergie Morefield Parker. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Loyd Parker, Jr., bother-in-law Alfred Wood and sister-in-law Charlotte Parker.

    Dallas was a member of the Mountain City Church of Christ, a US Army Veteran. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching his grandchildren play sports. Dallas was a retired electrician and member of IBEW #934.

    Those left to cherish Dallas' memory are his wife of 53 year, Phyllis Eggers Parker; sons, Carroll Parker and wife, Sherry and Terry Parker and wife Kelly all of Mountain City; sisters Shirley Wood, Barbara Sexton, and Mary Shupe and husband Benny, all of Mountain City; brother Charles Parker of Mountain City; grandchildren Valerie Parker, Tyler Parker, Nora Parker, Barrett Parker, Josi Roark, and Dalton Roark; great-grandchild Braydon Greenwell; several nieces and nephews; his church family; IBEW brothers of Local #934.

    Funeral services for Dallas G. Parker will be conducted on Monday, April 22, 2019, at 7 pm in the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux & Lipford Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5pm -7 pm prior to the service. Chuck Stewart and Dean Gouge will officiate the service. Graveside service, with military honors, will be conducted on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at 11 am, with Honors accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard, from Sunset Memorial Park, Mountain City, TN.

    Pallbearers will be Brian Shupe, Tim Parker, Kenny Wood, Robbie Brown, Jeff Brown, and Darren Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Rogers and all the nurses at the VA Medical Center, Mountain Home, Staff of Amedisys Home Health Care, and the men of Mountain City Church of Christ.
