Troy J. Lambert, 73, died Sunday, November 3, 2002, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Lambert was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Arthur Isaac and Ethel Dugger Lambert. He was also preceded in death by six brothers, Scott Lambert, Fred Lambert, Roscoe Lambert, Edward "Booge" Lambert, Roy Lambert and Dewey Lambert; a sister, Ethel Clawson; an infant sister, Mary Lambert; and a granddaughter, Kimberly Ruth Greene Oliver.
Mr. Lambert was the former owner and operator of L & S Produce, Boone, N.C., and Linville, N.C. He was a member of Piney Grove Church of Christ.
Tetrick Funeral Home, 211 North Riverside Drive, Elizabethton is in charge of arrangements.
LAMBERT -- Funeral services for Troy J. Lambert, 73, , Butler, who died Sunday, November 3, 2002, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, at Piney Grove Church of Christ with Mr. Dean Estep, minister, officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Piney Grove Church of Christ Singers. Graveside services and interment will follow the service in the Lambert Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be L.D. Clawson, Carol Clawson, Josh Bunton, T.J. Lambert, Billy Joe Lambert, Ernest Trivette, John Lee Lambert, Fred Lambert and Gary Guy. On Wednesday, January 5, 2022, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, took the hand of his Lord and Savior to join his family before him. Born on May 15, 1944, Floyd Dale Lambert was the youngest son of three born to the late Arthur Isaac Lambert and Ethel Lona Dugger Lambert. Floyd was also preceded in death by his brothers, Troy Jackson Lambert (and wife Arbeulah) and Edward “Booge” Lambert, and his special friends, Charles and Peggy Henson.
Growing up in the Poga Community, farming was a way of life and Floyd excelled at growing gardens and raising livestock. Floyd was not afraid of hard work and that love for farming led to his owning and operating, along with his wife and children, Lambert’s Produce. The market was a place where you could buy good, fresh produce but moreover it was a place you could share a laugh, a smile and gain friendship. Many of those friendships lasted Floyd and Oma’s entire lives.
Floyd was a Christian man, growing up in the Piney Grove Church of Christ in Poga, a place he returned every year for the annual homecoming to catch up with his kin folk. He attended many other churches when he moved to Valley Forge and always kept God in his life and in the lives of his family.
Floyd leaves behind his beloved wife of 59 years, Oma Lee Guy Lambert, of the home; his four children, Carolyn Guy of Elizabethton, Karlas (Joy) Lambert of Hampton, Nola Gay Dugger (Martha Childers) of Elizabethton, and Teresa (Tim) Julian of Hampton; his grandchildren, Crystal and Lacey Dugger, Autumn Julian, Josh (April) Guy, Tosha (Joe) Hatley, and Amy (Brooks) Furches; his great-grandchildren, Ryan and Laura Guy, Cassandra and Parker Hatley, Cody Dugger, Alisha Dugger, Mattie Perry and Jayden Perry; and a special sister-in-law, Blanche Lambert Williams. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and many many friends and extended family also survive.
A home going celebration of Floyd’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 10, in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Pastor Bryan Miller and Pastor Matthew Guy officiating. Music will be provided by The of Sounds of Victory. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from noon until 2 p.m. Monday, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow at Flat Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Lloyd Cable, Steve Hillman, Scott Lambert, Tim Julian and John L. McKinney.

Mattie E. Lambert Lewis, 92, of Butler, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, from Johnson City Medical Center. Mattie was born in Poga, Tenn., to the late Hobert Charles and Etta Vines Lambert. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charles "Ray" Lewis, on December 3, 2003; a brother, Allen Lambert; and a sister, Mae Lambert Harmon.
Mattie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was a member of Elizabethton Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting, fishing, listening to music and also playing music.
Those left to cherish her sweet memories include a daughter, Devonia Lewis McKeehan and husband (and beloved son-in-law) Bobby of Elizabethton; a brother, George Lambert and his wife of Butler; a sister, Selma Vines, also of Butler; two grandchildren, Randy McKeehan of Stoney Creek and Lisa McKeehan Young of Johnson City; and five great-grandsons, Curtis Bradley McKeehan, Georgia, Randy Ray Pritchard, Chase Alan Young and Christopher Robert Young, all of Johnson City, and Dalton Ray McKeehan of Stoney Creek. Also, many beloved nieces and nephews also survive.
A visitation will be conducted from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, May 10, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, or at the residence of her daughter at any time. A service to honor the life of Mattie E. Lambert Lewis will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Roby Ellis and Mr. Eddy Craft officiating. Music will be under the direction of Elizabethton Church of Christ Singers. The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Bob Campbell, Jeff Vines, Terry Reece and Shane Lambert.

George Dewey Lambert, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at his home. George was born on March 13, 1939 to the late Hobert Charles Lambert and Etta May Vines Lambert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Lambert; sisters, Mattie Lewis and Mae Harmon; and brother, Allen Lambert.
George enjoyed fishing and playing music. He also retired as a master metal craftsman.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 56 years, Jessie Trivette Lambert; son, Shane and wife Melissa; step-son, Michael Blevins and wife Debbie; step-daughter, Karen Vogler and husband John; sister, Selma Vines; grandchildren, Alyssa Lambert, Michelle Walsh (Michael), Matt Blevins (Ashley), Adam Stanton, Kala MacDowall (Luke) and CJ Lambert; and great-grandchildren, Faith, Avery and Aidan.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, July 26, at Mountain View Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow with Pastors Nathan Jones and Dean Presnell officiating. The graveside service and interment will follow at the Lambert Cemetery (Poga). Pallbearers will be Jeff Vines, Kevin Reece, Michael Walsh, Michael Blevins, John Vogler, Matt Blevins, Greg Trivette and Bobby Joe Trivette. Honorary pallbearers are Aidan Blevins, Charlie Stout, Raymond Kempton and Steve Pate.
