FRANK CARL MASTERS, age 97 of Masters Drive, Bakersville, NC went home to be with The Lord May 29, 2015 at Mission Hospital Memorial Campus in Asheville, NC. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a son of the late Rev. Hoke and Lockie Garland Masters. He was a member, superintendent, deacon, sunday school teacher, and special guitar player at Berea Brethren Church. He was retired from American Thread Company, and Mayland Tech Community College, and was also self employed as a timber cutter, and apple and tobacco farmer.

Survivors include: three sons; Wayne Masters (Blanche), of Clear Springs, Md., Wilburn Masters (Pat), and Phillip Masters (Norma), all of Bakersville, NC, a daughter, Barbara Masters Reid (Ray), also of Bakersville, NC, a sister, Beulah Greene, of Johnson City, TN, four grandchildren; D. Wayne Masters, David Masters, Daniel Willis, and Tammy Harshman, seven great grandchildren, five step grandchildren, and five step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his wife Georgia Viola Garland Masters, three sisters; Hattie Jones, Virgie McKinney, and Estella Tipton, two brothers; Andrew and Early Masters.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 1, 2015 at 7:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Todd Ayers, Wade Bowman, and Denver King officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will be Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 11:00AM at Garland Cemetery (Masters Drive).

Frank married Georgia Viola Garland about 1940 in Mitchell County, , , North Carolina. Georgia (daughter of Garrett Garland and Mary Greene) was born on 8 May 1920 in Mitchell County, , , North Carolina; died on 8 Jul 2004 in Mitchell County, , , North Carolina; was buried in Andrew Garland Cemetery, , Mitchell County, North Carolina.
