Roma B. Melton passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 29, 2019, at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her Husband: Caleb Melton; her Sisters: Nadine Howell, Ruby Richardson, Elizabeth Clark, and her Brother: Hobert Burleson.
She is survived by her three children: Stephen Melton, David Melton and Rebecca Melton. Roma was very active in the Banner Elk community and Lees McRae College, along with several other associations. Her heart was always in the mountains and will remain there.
She requested no funeral, only a sprinkling of her ashes around her husband's grave in the cemetery of the Presbyterian Church in Banner Elk. This will take place at 4 p.m. on July 14, 2019.
Roma married Caleb Wilson Melton about 1948 in North Carolina, , , .
