Bert Allen Trivett, age 82, of Beech Mountain Road, Elk Park, died October 6th, 2014 at home. He was born June 9, 1932 in Avery County. After serving in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, Bert returned to Avery County and worked as a self-employed rock mason in the area. He was a member of Beech Mountain Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Nunley Trivett; son, Jimmy Trivett of Elk Park; four grandsons, Nathan, Jacob, Matthew and Luke Trivett, all of Elk Park; granddaughter, Summer Trivett of Johnson City, TN; and two great-granddaughters, Tatum Cook of Johnson City and Candice Dawn Trivett of Elk Park.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Lincoln and Matthew Trivett; three brothers, Omer, Jim and Ustace Trivett; four sisters, Pauline Kelley, Louise Oliver, Loy Trivett and Agnes Walsh.

Bert married Anna Lee Nunley about 1953 in , Avery County, North Carolina, . Anna (daughter of Richard McKinley Nunley and Vertie Louise Harmon) was born on 21 Nov 1935 in Washington County, , , Virginia; died on 6 Mar 2016 in , Avery County, North Carolina, ; was buried in McGuire Cemetery, , Avery County, North Carolina. Matthew "Huey" Trivette, age 56, of Beech Mountain passed away on September 7, 2012 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte.

A native of Avery County, he was born April 12, 1956 a son of Bert and Ann Trivette of Beech Mountain.

He was an outstanding high school athlete in football, wrestling and baseball and lettered in all three sports. He also played football for Lees McRae College and he loved to watch the Green Bay Packers.

Matthew was preceded in death by his brother Lincoln Trivette.

A devoted friend, accommodating and caring person, Matthew has left to cherish his memory his: daughter, Sommer D. Trivette of Hampton, TN.; brother, Jimmy Trivette of Beech Mountain; granddaughter, Tatum Addison Cooke of Hampton, TN; nephews, Nathan Trivette, Jake Trivette, Matt Trivette, Luke Trivette all of Beech Mountain; great niece, Candice Trivette of Beech Mountain; best friend, Nub Taylor of Newland.

Funeral services for Matthew "Huey" Trivette will be conducted on Thursday, September 13th at 7:00 p.m. in the Grandfather Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home with Mr. Nub Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until the service hour. Family, pallbearers and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home on Friday, September 14th at 1:00 p.m. to go in procession to McGuire Cemetery for graveside services.
