    The funeral service was conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel.

    The graveside service and interment were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 9, at Happy Valley Memorial Park.

    ELIZABETHTON - Mrs. Ruby K. Guinn, age 82, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Thursday, December 19, 2019 in the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.

    A native of Elizabethton, she was the daughter of the late Elick and Bonnie Townsend Birchfield. Ruby was a homemaker and she was a member of Southside Freewill Baptist Church. She loved to shop, camp and to spend time with her sisters.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis "LD" Guinn, a grandson, Logan Guinn; three brothers, Worley Birchfield, Jim Birchfield and Cecil Birchfield and a sister, Jean Lund. Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Randy Guinn, Elizabethton; a daughter, Julie Canter and husband Westley, Jonesborough; grandchildren, Stacey Guinn, Austin Guinn, Westley Canter Jr. and Mercedes Canter; several great-grandchildren; three brothers, Steve Birchfield, Elizabethton, L. J. Birchfield, Hampton and Charlie Birchfield, Johnson City and six sisters, Josephine Cagle, Piney Flats, Judy Davenport, Elizabethton, Joyce Richmond, Elizabethton, Kathy Humphreys, Bristol, TN, Shirley Smith, Johnson City and Mary Burleson, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

    A service to honor the life of Mrs. Ruby K. Guinn will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, December 22, 2019 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Jeremy Burleson and Pastor Steve Burleson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. on Sunday prior to the service or at the residence of her son, Randy Guinn, 287 H. Heaton Road, Elizabethton at other times.

    Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 23, 2019 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Jack Smith, Mark Davenport, Westley Canter Jr., Cody Jackson, Phillip Canter and Stacey Guinn.

    Ruby married Lewis Donald "L. D." Guinn on 6 Aug 1960 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Lewis (son of Claude C.     Worley Edward Birchfield, 66, 128 Rufus Taylor Road, Elizabethton, went to be with the Lord, on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital. He was the son of the late, Ellick and Bonnie Townsend Birchfield and was born in Carter County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Birchfield, a nephew, Travis Birchfield and his mother-in-law, Joann Peters.

    Mr. Birchfield was a 1964 graduate of Elizabethton High School where made All-State honors in basketball. He was the leading scorer in the Big 7 Conference in 1964. He was inducted into the Elizabethton High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2004. Mr. Birchfield was a veteran of the United States Marine Reserves. He worked as a machinist at PSG and was previously employed by NARC. He attended Stoney Creek Baptist Church.

    He is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Linda Birchfield, of the home; eight sisters, Ruby Guinn, (L.D.), Elizabethton; Shirley Smith (Billy Jack), Johnson City; Jeanette Lund (Dave), Elizabethton; Josphine Cagle, (Larry), Bluff City; Judy Davenport, (Donnie), Elizabethton; Joyce Richmond, (George), Elizabethton; Kathy Humphrey, (Wayne), Bristol; Mary Burleson (Paul), Elizabethton; four brothers, L.J. Birchfield, (Linda), Hampton; Jim Birchfield, Elizabethton; Charlie Birchfield, (Pattie), Johnson City; Steve Birchfield, (Dennesa), Elizabethton; his father-in-law, Willard Peters his fiancée, Joy Taylor, both of Elizabethton; a brother-in-law, Steve Williams, (Pauline), Elizabethton; a sister-in-law, Wendy Vines, Elizabethton; a great-niece, Reygan Birchfield, Elizabethton and his favorite cat, Ralphie. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

    The funeral service for Mr. Birchfield will be conducted on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 7:00 PM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, Elizabethton with Rev. Richard Estep and Rev. Ken Houser officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Tuesday prior to the service or at his residence or at the residence of a sister, Joyce Richmond, 508 Bingham Street at other times.

    The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Bill Tetrick, Larry Bowling, Roger Nidiffer, Mark Davenport, Wesley Whaley, Don Whaley, Franklin Birchfield, Butch Andes and Stanley Bailey. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. David Fenner, Harvey Jessee, Roger Childress and Johnny Mills.

    Jeanette Lund, 63, of Elizabethton, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Select Specialty Hospital, Bristol, TN. She was the daughter of the late Ellick and Bonnie Townsend Birchfield and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Birchfield and Worley Birchfield. Mrs. Lund was a member of Southside Free Will Baptist. She was a past matron of the Eastern Star, Sycamore Chapter #163 and was retired from Snap-On Tools. She is survived by her husband, David Lund, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Jennifer Lund, Hampton; a very special granddaughter, Lauren Lund, Hampton; four brothers, L.J. Birchfield, Hampton; Jim Birchfield; Charles Birchfield; Steve Birchfield; all of Elizabethton; seven sisters, Ruby Guinn; Elizabethton; Shirley Smith; Johnson City; Josephine Cagle, Bluff City; Joyce Richmond; Judy Davenport; Mary Burleson, all of Elizabethton; and Kathy Humphrey, Bristol, TN; Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Lund will be conducted on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, Elizabethton with Rev. Steve Burleson and Mr. David Siebenaler, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Sunday prior to the service or at the home at other times. The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Curtis Miller, Mark Davenport, Wesley Whaley, Jack Smith, Hunter Nave, Ryan Birchfield and Spencer Nave. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 AM Monday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to express a special thank you to the Doctors and nurses and the other staff members at the Select Specialty Hospital for all the love and care shown to Mrs. Lund and the family during her stay.

    JOHNSON CITY - Jim R. Birchfield, 66, Johnson City passed away unexpectedly Sunday May 12, 2019 in the Queen's Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii.

    A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Ellik & Bonnie Townsend Birchfield. Jim was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. He was retired as a Store Manager with Kroger's. He was Administrator of the Elizabethton Moose Lodge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son: Travis Birchfield and one daughter: Casey Rae Birchfield, two Brothers: Worley, & Cecil Birchfield and a sister: Jean Lund.

    Survivors include his wife Cindy Walker Birchfield, a granddaughter: Reygan Birchfield, Two Step-Sons: Andrew (Olivia) Walker, and Cory (Kelsie) Walker and Step-Grandson: Cory (Shelbie) Malukiewicz. A Step-Granddaughter: Lillieann Walker, and soon to arrive: step-grandson: Hensley T. Walker. Six Sisters: Jo (Larry) Cagle, Joyce (George) Richmond, Kathy (Wayne) Humphrey, Ruby Guinn, Judy (Don) Davenport and Shirley Smith. Three Brothers: L.J. (Linda) Birchfield, Charlie (Patti) Birchfield and Steve ( Denessa) Birchfield. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and his special fury friend: Oreo.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mark Street officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Jamie Schaff. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday will be: Robert Hickman, Tony Tickles, Mark Davenport, Roger Herron, James Matherly, Jack Smith, Cory Malukiewicz and Randy Guinn. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Johnny Elliott, Larry Bacon, Roger Nidiffer, Doug Buckles, Butch Andes, Bruce Miller, Members of the Elizabethton Moose Lodge and The Kroger Family.
