    Roy Lee Tester, age 71, of Bristol, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at his residence. Roy was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee to the late James Clyde Tester and Elva Irlene Dugger Tester. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Branch and Debbie Stout; one brother, James Michael Tester; and one grandson, Tyler Bowers.

    Roy had worked as a Class AA Machinist and was of the Baptist faith. He was a United States Army veteran.

    Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 32 years, Floye Rose Tester, of the home; a step daughter, Wanda Rouse and husband Freddie, of Bristol, VA; a step son, Jamie Bowers, also of Bristol, VA; three granddaughters, Angela Menchaca, Kelly Fairchild, and Heather Pope; seven great grandchildren; three brothers, Burt Tester and wife Donna, of Elizabethton, Fred Tester and wife Paula, of Jonesborough and Robert Tester and wife Gracie, of Hampton; and three sisters, Linda Tester, Norma Harrison and Rose Branch, all of Elizabethton.

    A graveside service to honor the life of Mr. Roy Lee Tester will be conducted at 2:30 PM on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. John Stevens, officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Tester, Jamie Bowers, Fred Tester and Burt Tester.

    Died:
    Anthony Burton Tester Sr., Happy Valley Road, Johnson City, Tenn., passed away on January 26, 2022, at the age of 73. Burt was a lifelong fire prevention sprinkler fitter and was born December 9, 1948 to the late James Clyde Tester and Elva Arlene Dugger Tester. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, including Roy L. Tester, Michael James Tester and Fredrick P. Tester; sisters, Norma J. Tester Harrison, Deborah A. Tester Stout and Doris M. Tester Branch; a grandchild, Ema Jane Marie Tester; children, Sheri Campbell and James Campbell.
    Anthony was of the Christian faith and attended Pinecrest Christian Church. He loved to cook and spend time with his family. He loved those around him and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was very mechanically inclined and able to fix anything that needed repaired. He always found a way to make it happen.
    Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donna Tester; children, Sherry Tester, Anthony B. Tester Jr., Christopher Maston Tester (Tracey Nicole), Patrick Thomas Tester of Coshocton, Ohio, Joel A. Tester (Penny), Frank Lascola and Richard Campbell; grandchildren, Andrew Tester, Aaron Stansell, Darion Jade Tester, Cassius Tester, Maston J. Tester, Mary Elva Tester, Ava Rae Tester, Kelsey Nicole Carrier, Alex Campbell and Matthew Campbell; great-grandchildren, Krisli Carrier and Chandler Carrier; and brothers and sisters, Linda K. Tester, Rose Marie Branch and Robert L. Tester. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
    A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital for the excellent care and compassion shown to Burt during his illness.

    JOHNSON CITY - Norma Jean Harrison, age 68, of Johnson City, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on October 28, 2021 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Norma was born in Carter County to the late James Clyde Tester and Elva Arlene Dugger Tester. In addition to her parents, Norma was also preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Branch and Deborah Arlene Tester Stout; and three brothers, Fred Paul Tester, Michael Tester and Dallas Tester.
    Norma retired from the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in the Dietary Department. She was of the Christian faith and loved going to yard sales and shopping, plants and animals.
    Those left to cherish Norma’s memory include her son, Fred Harrison of the home; and two sisters, Linda Tester and Rose Branch both of Johnson City, TN. Several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
    A service to celebrate and honor the life of Norma Jean Harrison will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 6, 2021 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Mack Presnell. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service on Saturday.
    The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Cody Farley, Dustin Stout, Robert Tester, Jessie Richardson, David Steffey and Fred Harrison.

    JONESBOROUGH - Frederick Paul Tester, age 50, of Jonesborough, went to be with his Lord on October 29, 2018, at his home after a battle with stomach cancer. He was born in Elizabethton, TN to James and Elva Tester and was the youngest of ten children.

    Fred, a great believer in family and responsibility, went to work at an early age as a pipefitter to help support his mother after his father's death. After many years of dedicated service, he rose to the position of crew foreman finishing his career with East Tennessee Sprinkler. Fred will be remembered as a caring and loving husband to Paula for 21 years and father to 14-year-old Shelby. A family man who was always there when needed.

    Fred was preceded in death by his parents, brothers' Dallas and Michael, and sisters' Doris Branch and Debbie Stout.

    Those left to cherish his memory include his two brothers, Burt and Robert Tester three sisters, Linda Tester, Norma Harrison, and Rose Branch, nephew Fred Harrison III, and many nieces and nephews.

    The Tester family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff of Ballad Hospice and Shannon Huffine, caregiver.
