    Notes:

    Mrs. Dovie Gertrude Street Gouge, 97, Johnson City, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Grover and Bessie Holtsclaw Street. Mrs. Gouge was a long-time member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church and the Silver Bells Sunday School Class. She had served as custodian of the church for more than 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Gouge; a granddaughter, April Wood; and by three brothers and one sister. Survivors include seven daughters and six sons-in-law, Norma Jean Blaylock, Stella and Clarence Burleson, Mildred and Paul Wood, Shirley and William Swink and Sonya and Gary Rice, all of Johnson City, Edna and Robert Massey, Unicoi, and Geraldine and John Cansler, Winston-Salem, N.C.; one son and very special daughter-in-law, Donald and Patsy Gouge, Johnson City; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of the life of Mrs. Gouge will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday in Memorial Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. James Archer and the Rev. William McDaniel officiating. Graveside service and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, in Roselawn Memorial Park. Gary Rice and Terry Paul Wood will provide the music. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be her sons-in-law and her church family. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Homer (son of John Wilson Gouge and Lottie Osborne) was born on 27 May 1906 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died on 12 Sep 1996 in Washintgon County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Roselawn Memorial Park, , Carter County, Tennessee.     JOHNSON CITY - Norma Gouge Blalock, 90, Johnson City, passed away October 15, 2018 in the NHC Healthcare, Johnson City following an extended illness.

    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Homer & Dovie Street Gouge. Norma was a 1947 graduate of Happy Valley High School. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Blalock who passed away April 21, 1996, by a brother: Donald Gouge and two sisters: Edna Massey and Shirley Swink. She was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church.

    Survivors include her children: Donna (Kevin) Huckaba and Steven (Penny) Blalock all of Johnson City. Three Grandchildren: Lori Ann Huckaba (Terry) Hamilton, Jonathan (Amy) Huckaba and Mary (Kyle) Imes. Four Great Grandchildren: Samuel Hamilton, Noah Hamilton, Jacob Imes and Charlotte Imes. Four Sisters: Stella Burleson, Mildred (Paul) Wood and Sonya (Gary) Rice all of Johnson City and Geraldine (John) Cansler, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Several nieces & nephews.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gary Edwards and Mr. Gary Rice officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday October 20, 2018 in Roselawn Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Gary Rice and Terry Wood. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends
