    ELIZABETHTON - Del Whaley, 64, Elizabethton passed away Sunday March 3, 2019 at his residence.

    Born October 31, 1954 in Johnson City to the late Dewey L. & Gracie Mae Couch Whaley. He was a graduate of Unaka High School and East Tennessee State University with a degree in Business Management. Del was a Pharmacy Tech with Wal Mart, Elizabethton. He was a former TSSAA official. He was a Non-Denominational Christian. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son Patrick Broach.

    Survivors include his wife of 29 years Caroline King Whaley. A Step Daughter: Erica Stewart. Two Grandchildren: Stephanie Shea Stacey (Josh) and Sydnee Blake Thier (David). Six Great Grandchildren: Graeson Hunnel, Bishop Thier, Kuechly Thier, Alyvia Thier, Hadley Stacey and Easton Stacey. His Brother: D.L. Whaley (Martha). Several Nieces & Nephews. His Mother-In-Law; Madeline King. His fur baby Poshi.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Bob Couch and Rev. H.C. Couch officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by David Whaley. Active Pallbearers will be: Zak Morris, Dewey Whaley, David Whaley, Tim Mack, David Thier and Ray Ashley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brandon Coomer, Josh Stacy and fellow workers at Wal Mart, Elizabethton. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Ashley Patton and his Physicians. The family will receive friends following the funeral service.
