    Brenda Kay Geouge, 71, of Roan Mountain, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018, at The Waters of Roan Highlands after an extended illness.
    Born January 10, 1947 in Banner Elk, N.C., to the late Floyd and Sadie Jaber Moody, she had lived her entire life in the Roan Mountain area.
    Brenda was a 1965 graduate of Cloudland High School and was retired due to disability as a Respiratory Therapist from Cannon Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Roan Mountain. Her hobbies were arts and crafts, scrapbooks and she was a huge Elvis Presley fan.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Conway Geouge, in 2007.
    Survivors include a son, Kevin Moody, Bluff City; one grandson, Tyler Moody; one sister, Peggy Jean Stanley, Roan Mountain; and several nieces and nephews.
    A service to celebrate the life of Brenda Geouge was conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 23, at First Baptist Church, Roan Mountain, with the Rev. Geren Street officiating. The family received friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the church. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to the staff of The Waters of Roan Highlands for their kindness, care and compassion. It was her wish to be cremated.
