    Notes:

    Cecil Dellinger, age 84, of the Ingalls Community, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019. A native of Avery County, he was a son of the late Linnie and Ada McKinney Dellinger. He was also preceded in death by his Wife: Sandra Harrison Dellinger; Daughter: Cathy Dellinger; Grandson: Eric Avery; Sisters: Clarice Presnell, Marcel Forbes, Thelma Dellinger and Virginia Smith; and Brothers: Homer, Ivor, Clarence and Delmar Dellinger.

    Cecil was a US Army Veteran who loved bluegrass music and playing the mandolin. He worked at Henredon for many years, but his favorite job was driving a dump truck. He loved his church and his church family, where he was a member of Whites Memorial Baptist Church.

    Left to cherish his memory is his Daughter: Cecily Avery of Newland; and Sister-in-law: Polly Dellinger of Ingalls. Numerous nieces, nephews and his church family also survive.

    A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 12, in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Roger Griffin officiated. Private burial took place in Whites Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends following the service at the funeral home.
