Howard Rainbolt, 70, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was born on September 25, 1950 in Carter County, Tenn., to the late Julius Grant Rainbolt and Hazel Cordelia Sheets Rainbolt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janie Cable.
Howard was always a hard worker. He loved the outdoors and also hunting and fishing.
Howard was a member of Fish Springs Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 39 years, Barbara Rainbolt; son, Eric Watson; brother, Toby Ray Rainbolt; grandchildren, Austin Watson, Dominic Watson and Preston Watson; great-grandchildren, Jackson James Watson and Cash Watson; and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends from noon until 1 p.m. Monday, April 19, at Fish Springs Baptist Church. A funeral service followed at 1 p.m. with Pastors Toby Rainbolt, Donnie Cable and Stevie Guinn officiating. The graveside service followed the funeral service at the Griffith Cemetery. Pallbearers were Austin Watson, Dominic Watson, Preston Watson, CJ Rainbolt, Heath Cable and Jimmy Widner. Honorary pallbearers were his church family at Fish Springs Baptist Church.

Janie Ann Rainbolt Cable, age 51, 468 County Road 709, Riceville, TN, went home to be with her Lord, Friday, September 29, 2006, at her residence.

A native of Carter County, she moved to Riceville, TN, in 2003, where she lived.

Janie is the daughter of the late J.G. and Cordellia Hazel Sheets Rainbolt.

She was a member of Riceville Church of Christ. Janie was a former employee of University of Tennessee Extension Service as a program assistant.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Elwood Cable.

Survivors include her husband, Donnie Cable, of the home; a son, Heath and daughter-in-law, Janna Cable, Decatur, TN; a daughter, Melanie Cable, of the home; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and Barbara Rainbolt, Toby and Mary Rainbolt, all of Butler, TN; Special cousin, Ella Jean (Bud) Lunceford, Butler, TN; eight brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Darell and Judith Cable, Marion, NC, Ray and Barbara Cable, Elizabethton, TN, Loyd and Regina Cable, Hickory, NC, Dale and Karen Cable, Hampton, TN, Ellis and Belle Cable, Butler, TN, Charles and Janice Cable, Butler, TN, Gary and Rose Cable, Elizabethton, TN, Jerry and Sharon Cable, Butler, TN; three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Delores and Jerry Hicks, Butler, TN, Susie and Bruce Carter, Elizabethton, TN, Pennye Cable, Hampton, TN; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The graveside service will be conducted at Griffith Cemetery, Fish Springs Community, Butler.
