    PERRY, TROY J. BLUFF CITY -- Troy J. Perry, 79, of 231 Troy Road, died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998, in James H. Quillen V. A. Medical Center Hospital. He was a native of Sullivan County and a member and elder of Bunker Hill Christian Church. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of world War II serving in the European Theater, 844th Aviation Engineer Battalion. Survivors include his wife, Ollie Shipley Perry; a daughter, Donna Osborne, Piney Flats; four sons, Kenny Perry, Michael Perry and Steve Perry, all of Bluff City, Troy Lee Perry, Elizabethton; a brother, Edward Perry, Bluff City; two sisters, Clara Scalf and Valvie Glover, both of Bluff City; two sisters-in-law; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

    Jack married Ollie Shipley about 1940 in , Giles County, Tennessee, . Ollie (daughter of Adam Shipley and Mamie Woods) was born on 18 Nov 1922 in Sullivan County, , , Tennessee; died on 9 Oct 2004 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Morrell Cemetery, , Sullivan County, Tennessee.     BLUFF CITY - Clara Perry Scalf, age 99, of Bluff City, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 25, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family. Clara was born in Sullivan County to the late Jack and Molly Carr Perry. In addition to her parents, Clara was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Anderson Scalf; her newborn twin children, Ed and Edna Scalf; all eight of her siblings, Bonnie Scalf, Velva Glover, Georgia Elliott, Mitchell Perry, Raymond Perry, Troy Perry, Sam Perry and Ed Perry.
    Clara retired from Unisys in Bristol and had also worked at The Shell Plant during World War II. She was the oldest member at Bunker Hill Christian Church, and she loved going to church and her church family. Clara enjoyed reading, quilting and sewing, flowers and gardening and watching the Atlanta Braves.
    Clara loved to laugh. Those in her presence were in awe of her knowledge and creativity. She had a servants heart and faithfully covered her community with handmade gifts, quilts and baked goods.
    Those left to cherish her memory include four daughters, Glendora Maines, Loretta (Charles) Kaylor, Charlene Miller and Vanessa (Frank) Smith; seven grandchildren, Johnny Maines, Rico (Kim) Maines, Tracy (Richie) King, Shannon (Julie) Glover, Jason (Betty) Miller, Ginger (Mike) Stiles and Julie (Joe) Fleenor; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mary Perry; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
    A graveside service to celebrate the life of Clara Perry Scalf will be conducted at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 30, 2021 in the Jones Cemetery (Big Arm Road, Bluff City) with Mr. Grant Foster and Mr. Mike Pope officiating. Active pallbearers will be Clara’s grandchildren.

    ELIZABETHTON - Mr. Troy Lee Perry, age 66, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 at the James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center.

    He was born in Elizabethton but grew up in Bluff City and was the son of the late Troy Jack Perry and Ollie Shipley Perry. Mr. Perry was owner of the Perry's Guttering Company. He was of the Christian faith and was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Vietnam Era. He enjoyed golf, brain teaser puzzles and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

    Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Donna Jean Nave Perry, of the home; four children, Joshua Perry, Elizabethton; Chad Perry and wife Ashley, Piney Flats; Angela Randolph and husband Jeffery, Bluff City and Malachi Perry and fiancé Ashley, Bluff City; three brothers, Kenny Perry and wife Phyllis; Mike Perry and wife Darlene and Steve Perry and wife Thea, all of Bluff City; one sister, Donna Osborne and husband Freddie, Piney Flats and six grandchildren; Kaylee Randolph, Sydney Randolph, Greyson Randolph, Hunter Perry, Hudson Perry, Kyndall Perry and two grandchildren on the way.

    The family will hold a Celebration of Life Service to honor the life of Mr. Troy Lee Perry at 7:00 PM, Monday, September 24, 2018 at Bunker Hill Christian Church with Pastor Richard Bawgus officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 PM prior the service at the church.

    The family will hold a graveside service and inurnment at a later date at Mountain Home National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Carter County Honor Guard.
