    ELIZABETHTON - Mary Evelyn Campbell Taylor, 88, Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord, Friday, March 11, 2016 at her residence.

    She was born October 20, 1927 in Carter County to the late Taft and Grace Bradshaw Campbell. Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker who loved doing for her family and her church family. She was an active member of First Free Will Baptist Church.

    In addition to her family, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Taylor, who died April 4, 2005; by a sister, Carolyn Richards; and a brother, Bruce Campbell.

    Survivors include her daughters, Paulette Taylor Johnson and husband Paul Rochester, Aurora, Colorado and Mitzi Phillips and husband Keith, Elizabethton; five grandchildren, Curtis Johnson and wife Hillary, Christie Clare and husband Richard, Rachel Rochester, Matt Rochester and Dustin Phillips; six great grandchildren; four sisters, Georgia Berry, Elizabethton, Betty Kyte, Williamsburg, Virginia, Peggy Richardson, Johnson City and Darrel Ann Fair and husband Packy, Elizabethton; four brothers, James S. "Bo" Campbell and wife JoAnn, Elizabethton, Paul Campbell and wife Wanda, Raleigh, North Carolina, Harold Campbell and wife Lorraine, Knoxville, and Bobby Campbell and wife Judy, Johnson City; several nieces & nephews and her special four legged friend "Daisy".

    A service to celebrate the life of Mary Evelyn Taylor will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jack Lloyd officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Music will be provided by Carol Bowers. Active Pallbearers will be her nephews: Marc Campbell, Greg Kyte, John Kyte, Bobby Richards, Kelly Richardson, Steven Fair, Ryan Curtis and Hunter Pierson. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Packy Fair, Dwight Richards, her brothers and her church family.

    WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Betty Jean Campbell Kyte, 90, fell asleep in the arms of Christ Jesus her Lord and Savior on September 13, 2022. She was born on August 9, 1932 in Elizabethton, Tenn., and moved to Williamsburg, Va., in 1955 where she stayed.
    Betty was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church and she continued to worship there until recent months. She retired from York County Public Schools where she served for many years as a kindergarten aid at Magruder and Waller Mill Schools. Betty’s passion in life was raising her five children as Christians and, along with her husband, providing a stable, loving family home. Later, grandchildren became another passion. Betty was always there to assist with taking her grandchildren to school, Fife & Drum practice, having “cousin sleepovers,” singing old-time songs, and preparing holiday meals.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Kyte; parents, Taft and Grace Bradshaw Campbell; sisters, Mary Evelyn Taylor, Georgia Berry and Carolyn Richards; brothers, Bruce Campbell and Bobby Campbell; grandson, Adam Kyte; and daughter-in-law, Philippia “Happy” Hull Kyte.
    Betty leaves behind siblings, Bo, Paul, Peggy Richardson, Harold and Darrell Ann Fair; children, Greg Kyte (Debbi), John Kyte (Kathy), Rusty Kyte, Karen Helderman (Mike) and Jason Kyte (Amber); grandchildren, Ben Kyte, Spenser Kyte, Trevor Helderman (Jennifer), Harrison Kyte, Daniel Helderman, Jessica Horne and Nathan Horne; great-grandchildren, Evie, Shannun and Levi; and a special sister-in-law, Judy Campbell.
    A private service will be held at Williamsburg Memorial Park.

    ELIZABETHTON - James Spencer “Bo” Campbell, age 88, of Elizabethton, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. Bo was born in Elizabethton to the late Taft and Grace (Bradshaw) Campbell. In addition to his parents, Bo was also preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann (Hughes) Campbell; five sisters, Mary Evelyn Taylor, Georgia Berry, Betty Kyte, Peggy Richardson and Carolyn Richards; a brother, Bobby Campbell; and an infant brother, Bruce Campbell.

    Bo was a graduate of Elizabethton High School- Class of 1953 where he was named All State Guard and outstanding athlete in both basketball and track. Bo owned and operated Church Pew Padding by Campbell and had been in the upholstering business since the 1950s. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Elizabethton where he had previously served as choir leader. Bo also attended Knob Creek Church of the Brethren where he had also served as a choir leader. He was a member of the Gideons and had served as an official for TSSAA Football and basketball. Bo enjoyed fishing, his friends at Lingerfelt Group, spending time with his family and gospel music. Most of all he loved his family and cherished the time spent with them and especially his grandchildren.

    Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Cathy Curtis and Jo Ellen Campbell and fiancé Craig McNeil all of Elizabethton; his son, Marc Campbell and wife Laura of Easley, SC; his grandchildren, Andy Curtis and Erica, Ryan Curtis, Hunter Pierson and Brianna, Anna Grace Campbell, Jacob Stokes and Joshua Stokes; his great granddaughter, Avery Curtis; two brothers, Paul Campbell and wife Wanda of Apex, NC and Harold Bill Campbell and wife Lorraine of Elizabethton; a sister, Darrell Ann Fair and husband Packy of Elizabethton; a special sister-in-law, Judy Campbell of Johnson City; and a brother-in-law, Ted Hughes of Johnson City. Several nieces, nephews, along with his special neighbors, Steve and Geneva Burrough and Ken and Diane Long also survive.

    A service to celebrate and honor Bo’s life will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Reverend Phil Poston officiating. Music will be under the direction of Grady and Alecia Holder. The family will receive friends from 4:30 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Tuesday. The service will be livestreamed from the chapel.     JOHNSON CITY - Bobby Lee Campbell, age 74, of Johnson City, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the Johnson City Medical Center, following a brief illness. Bobby was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee to the late Taft and Grace Bradshaw Campbell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Evelyn Taylor and Carolyn Richards; and one brother, Bruce Campbell.

    Bobby was a devoted husband, who loved his family and passionately cared for them. He loved his God, family and his flag and loved helping others. Bobby had worked for Wells Fargo as an armed guard then became part owner of Capital Armored Services, when he retired. He proudly served his country in the Tennessee Army National Guard and was a member of Elizabethton Church of Christ. Bobby, along with his wife, competed in many marathons all over the United States and internationally, having ran in more than 50 marathons. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

    Those left to cherish his memories include his loving wife of 52 ½ years, Judy Harmon Campbell; four sisters, Georgia Berry, of Elizabethton, Betty Kyte, of Williamsburg, VA, Peggy Richardson, of Johnson City and Darrell Ann Fair (Packy), of Elizabethton; three brothers, James S. “Bo” Campbell (JoAnn), of Elizabethton, Paul Campbell (Wanda), of Apex, NC and Harold Bill Campbell (Lorraine), of Elizabethton. Also, many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly, as well as his special friends, Janice and Copeland Hicks.

    A service to honor and celebrate the life of Bobby Lee Campbell will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Elizabethton Church of Christ with Mr. Roby Ellis, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the church, prior to the service on Saturday.

    The committal and entombment will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 26, 2020 in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
