    MOUNTAIN CITY — Frances Adlee Walker Robinson, age 96, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2011, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

    She was born on February 16, 1915, in Neva, Tennessee, daughter of the late William Roby and Sally Stout Walker. In addition to her parents, Adlee was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Robinson; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

    She was a former employee of Michael's Department Store, where she had worked for almost 40 years. Adlee was very active and enjoyed life to the fullest and had participated in the Senior Citizens Center exercise program for many years. She liked sewing, crocheting, working in her garden and canning, reading, working word and jigsaw puzzles and traveling.

    She was a member of First Baptist Church for 70 years and was an active member in CARE. Adlee was a former Sunday School teacher, where she had taught both children's and adult classes. She was also an active member in both the WMU and Baptist Women's Leader.

    Adlee is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Jane and Ralph Walters, of Elizabethtown, KY, Kay and Wayne Smith, of Kingston, TN, and Charlene and Kyle Kelley, of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren: Scott Davis and wife, Angie, Shawn Smith and wife, Mariah, Kristie Guess, Frances Kelley and Sarah Kelley; great grandchildren: Silas Guess, Anna Guess, Janie Smith, Kaitlyn Davis and William Davis; sister, Leota Rash, of Elizabethton, TN; brother, Hugh Walker, of Neva, TN; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins; her church family; and many special friends.

    The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2011, at First Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Ricky Campbell to officiate.

    Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Phillippi Cemetery

    Active pallbearers will Wayne Smith, Kyle Kelley, Scott Davis, Shawn Smith, Dan Rash and Ed Walker.

    Martin Dean Walker, age 77, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 27,2012 at the Mountain City Care Center.

    A native of Johnson County, Dean was born on October 9, 1934 to the late C.H. 'Herb'and Lynie Walker. In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Walker Monseur and brothers: Jack Walker, Charles F. Walker and Frederick D. Walker.

    Dean enjoyed Nascar, roller skating, carpentry, history and spending time with his grandchildren. Dean worked with the Johnson County Highway Department for several years until his health declined. He was a member of First Baptist Church and recently had come to know Pastor Steven Spencer and the Calvary Baptist Church fellowship. Dean had served with the Johnson County Rescue Squad and was a United States Air Force Veteran. He will truly be missed by his family and all who knew him.

    Dean is survived by his wife Clara FayeWalker; daughter, Ladeana Glenn of Gastonia, NC; Step-mother, Mattie G. Walker of Mountain City, TN; sisters: Blanche Settlemyre, Mary Hicks, both of Newton, NC, Shirley Michael and husband Bill, and Betty Mink, all of Mountain City, TN; brothers: Robert S. Walker and wife Gladys of Mountain City, TN, Connie Eggers, and John Eggers and wife Glenda, all of Bethel; grandchildren: Lauren Beuttel, Sydney Glenn, and Evan Glenn; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Sue Campbell of Mountain City, TN, several nieces and nephews and his co-workers at the Johnson County Highway Department.

    The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Steven Spencer to officiate. Special music will be provided by Mr. Steve Williams Graveside service and interment with Military Honors will follow from the Walker Family Cemetery on Reece Hill Road and will be conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers are: James Eastridge, Dr. Jim Shine, Daniel Jones, and nephews.

    Mrs. Floy Lee Millsaps Arnold, 66 of Vilas, died Friday morning, April 1, 2005 at Glenbridge Health Care Center in Boone.

    She was born October 6, 1938 in the Bethel community of Watauga County, a daughter of Melvin and Georgia Walker Millsaps.

    Mrs. Arnold was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was a licensed practical nurse at Blackwelder Hospital in Lenoir for 28 years and returned to Watauga County to work at Glenstone Nursing Home, now Glenbridge Health and Rehabilitation where she worked for 17 years.

    Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Jady Charles Arnold, her mother-in-law, a sister-in-law, two nephews, one niece, three aunts, and one uncle.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Georgia Walker Millsaps. one son, Freddie Charles Arnold two brothers, Charles and Jack MIllsaps and two sisters, Lucille and Juanita Millsaps.

    Services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Bethel Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Dan Rosser and Rev, Burl Greer. The body will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. Burial will follow in the Millsaps Family Cemetery.

    Floy married Jady Charles Arnold about 1955. Jady (son of Fred Selvester Arnold and Lennith M. He was a 1978 graduate of J.C.H.S. and a member of Locust Gap Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on small engines and woodworking.

    Survivors including his father, Hugh Walker are two sons, Ed Walker and wife Betsy and William Walker all of Mountain City, TN; Four sisters: Carole Perkins and husband Larry, Mountain City, TN; Dorothy Brewer and husband James, Mountain City, TN; Donna Cooper and husband Jim, Johnson City, TN; Mona Shatley and husband Keith, Mountain City, TN; One brother: Wayne Walker and wife Lecia, Mountain City, TN; Five grandchildren: Katelyn Walker, Hannah Walker, Hunter Walker, Nathanael Walker, and Draven Walker.

    A funeral service for Bill Walker will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux-Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Shannon Courtner to officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Graveside service and interment will be conducted on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Gambill Springs Cemetery.

    Active pallbearers will be: J.L. Hamby, John Shull, Larry Perkins, Rocky Brown, Dan Rash, Nathanael Walker, and Hunter Walker.

    Honorary pallbearers will be: Keith Shatley, James Brewer, and Jim Cooper.

    JOHNSON CITY - Donna Rhea Cooper, age 58 of Johnson City, Tennessee went home to be with her Lord, on Thursday, May 9, 2019 in the Johnson City Medical Center.

    She was the daughter of Hugh Edward Walker and the late Lena Kate Morefield Walker, born to them on August 2, 1960 in Mountain City, Tennessee. On June 16, 1978 she united in marriage to Jim Cooper and they had two loving daughters. She was a member of By-Faith Freewill Baptist Church of Johnson City. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her family, attending church, scrapbooking and cooking.

    She is preceded in death by her mother, Kate Walker; Sister, Debbie Brown; Brother, Bill Walker; Father-in-law; Rev. Roy Cooper; Brother-in-law Raymond Sutphin and a niece, Robin Michelle.

    She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jim Cooper; Daughters: Jessica (Mickey) Lyle and Bridgett (Scott) Wine; Sisters: Carol (Larry) Perkins, Dorothy (James) Brewer and Mona (Keith) Shatley; Brother: Wayne (Lecia) Walker; Grandchildren: Aaron Thornburg, Audrey Lyle and Aiden Lyle; Mother-in-law: Edna Cooper; Sisters-in-law: Jane Ann (Terry) Williams, Shirley Sutphin (Fransco Garland) and several nieces, nephews and relatives, left behind to cherish her memory.

    The family would like to extend their special thanks to: Dr. Paul Brown and Nurse Christy Rankin; all of Donna's caregivers at the Johnson City Medical Center 2900 ICU for their wonderful care; All of Donna's former co-workers at Target as well as her special church family.

    Funeral services for Donna Cooper will be conducted on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services of Johnson City, with Rev. Randy English and Rev. Nathan Jennings officiating.

    The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Tetrick Funeral Services of Johnson City after 5:00 P.M. until the hour of service at 7:00 P.M.

    A committal and graveside service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the Monte Vista Memorial Park with Rev. Shannon Courtner and Rev. Kevin Laws officiating. Those serving as pallbearers will be: Scott Wine, Mickey Lyle, Aaron Thornburg, Aiden Lyle, Ed Walker, Fransco Garland, Terry Williams, Noah Trivette and Jeff Spangler. Honorary pallbearers will be, Larry Perkins, James Brewer, Keith Shatley and the men of By-Faith Freewill Baptist Church.

    Charles Robert 'Chuck' Walker, age 60, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening, January 12, 2017. He was born on March 31, 1956 to the late Robert Shanklin 'RS' Walker and Mary Gladys Woods Walker.

    Chuck was a 1974 graduate of Johnson County High School. He had worked for Ernest Warren for many years and had also worked in various sawmills and at Burlington. He loved to be outdoors working and piddling. He enjoyed animals and had a special love for horses.

    He was a member of Locust Gap Baptist Church.

    Those left to cherish his memories include his sisters: Linnie F. Walker and Diane Hawkins and husband Jody; special friend who he considered a sister, Mechelle Brown Arney; step sons: Scott Mosley and David Mosley; daughter-in-law, Mary Sue Mosley; step grandchildren: Trey Mosley, Christian Mosley, Addison Mosley, Christopher Evans, Jessica Mosley and Renae Mosley; aunts: Shirley Michael and husband Bill, Betty Mink, Mary Hicks, Blanche Settlemyre and Opal Woods; uncles: John Eggers and wife Glenda, Connie Eggers and Jim Woods; great uncle, Hugh Walker; special cousin, Geena Atwood; special little buddy, Corbin Atwood; many special friends.

    Graveside service and interment for Chuck will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the Walker Family Cemetery with Pastor Junior Seatz and Frank Rash officiating. Special music will be provided by Mr. Marion Church. Pallbearers will be Jerry Grindstaff, Jody Hawkins, Bill Michael, Jesse Atwood, Joseph Atwood and Jake Ward. Honorary pallbearers are Randy McKinney, Danny Grindstaff, Bill Wilson and Steve Snyder.
