    Brenda Gail Emmert Crowe, 70, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 31, 2018, from Signature Health Care of Elizabethton. Brenda was born in Elizabethton, Tenn., to the late Arnold and Lulean Dolan Emmert. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Randy Crowe, in December 2017; an infant daughter; and one brother, Roy Emmert.
    Brenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was a homemaker and a member of Big Springs Church of Christ.
    Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Melissa Buxton and husband Don of Jonesborough; her son, Nathan Crowe and wife Rachel of Elizabethton; a sister, Midge McQueen and husband Kit of Elizabethton; her grandchildren, Thomas Buxton and wife Tiffany, Kelby Buxton and Desmond Richardson; one great-grandchild, Jackson Cole Buxton; and several nieces and nephews.
    A service to celebrate the life of Brenda Gail Emmert Crowe will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, September 2, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Glenn Layfield officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service, or at the residence of her daughter at other times. The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Kelby Buxton, Chris McQueen, Thomas Buxton, Kevin Rominger, Keith Tipton, Jimmy Vaughn and Josh Vaughn.
