Mrs. Pauline Kelly, 88, 903 Oak Street, Elizabethton, died Wednesday, May 26, 1999, at Hillview Health Center following an extended illness.

Mrs. Kelly was a native of Avery County, N.C., and a daughter of the late David and Ruby Cook Trivett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Coy Kelly, January 19, 1957, a daughter, Wanda Bass, a son, Paul Kelly, a brother, James Trivett, and two sisters, Louise Oliver and Loy Trivett.

Mrs. Kelly had lived in Elizabethton since 1928. She was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church, where she had been a Sunday School Teacher for over 40 years and was active in the W.M.U. of the church.

Survivors include a daughter, Maxine Cole, Elizabethton; a son, David Kelly, Jefferson City; two sisters, Margie Trivett, Elk Park, N.C., and Agnes Walsh, Dearborn, Mich.; two brothers, Omer Trivett and Bert Trivett, both of Elk Park N.C.; a son-in-law, James Bass; a daughter-in-law, Lucille Kelly; and a sister-in-law, Betsy Bare. Eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Pauline married Coy Rhudy Kelly about 1928 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Coy was born on 15 Mar 1907 in North Carolina, , , ; died on 19 Jan 1957 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Happy Valley Memorial Park, , Carter County, Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Omer David Trivette, age 84, of Elk Park, N.C. went to be with the Lord on March 18, 2009 after an extended illness at Roan Highlands Nursing Center.

He was born June 5, 1924, to the late David and Ruby Cook Trivette.

Omer was a member of the Beech Mtn. Baptist Church where he served for many years as both superintendent and deacon. He was also a founding member of the Beech Mtn. Community Club.

He was a member of the Cranberry Lodge #598 A.F.A.M for over 50 years, a Scottish Rite Mason, and a member of the Oassis Temple.

Omer retired from the North Carolina Prison system after 28 years of service. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy during WWII.

He enjoyed coin collecting, antiques, farming and his cows.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by; his wife of 55 years, Faye Mitchell Trivette; brother Jim Trivette; sisters, Pauline Kelly, Louise Oliver, Margie Trivette, Loy Trivette and Agnes Walsh.

Left to carry on his memory are; his children, son Wayne Trivette, and wife Hope of Chillowie, VA; daughters, Cathy Trivette and husband Arnold of Old Beech Mtn., Kelley McGuire and husband Jeff also of Old Beech Mtn.; his brother; Bert Trivette and wife Ann of Old Beech Mtn.; grandchildren, Hunter Trivette and wife Heather, Tracy Frick and husband Bryam, Andrew Trivette and wife Ali, Trapper McGuire and Jennifer McGuire; and one great grandson, Skylar Trivette.

The family will receive friends on Friday March 20th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday march 21st at 11:00 a.m. at the Beech Mountain Baptist Church. Rev. Dennis Church and Dr. Charles Lanier will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Beech Mtn. Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pall bearers will be; Hunter Trivette, Drew Trivette, Trapper McGuire, Bryam Frick, Alex Elkins and K.C. Carter. Honorary pallbearers are the deacons of Beech Mtn. Baptist Church.

Graveside Rites will given by the Cranberry Masonic Lodge #598 A.F.A.M along with the VFW Pat Ray Post and the NC State Prison Honor Guard.

David married Faye Olive Mitchell about 1945. Faye (daughter of George Mitchell and Mary Jones, daughter of George Cleveland Mitchell and Mary Ann Love) was born on 19 Sep 1928 in , Avery County, North Carolina, ; died on 25 Nov 2002 in , Avery County, North Carolina, ; was buried in Beech Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery, , Avery County, North Carolina. Bert Allen Trivett, age 82, of Beech Mountain Road, Elk Park, died October 6th, 2014 at home. He was born June 9, 1932 in Avery County. After serving in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, Bert returned to Avery County and worked as a self-employed rock mason in the area. He was a member of Beech Mountain Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Nunley Trivett; son, Jimmy Trivett of Elk Park; four grandsons, Nathan, Jacob, Matthew and Luke Trivett, all of Elk Park; granddaughter, Summer Trivett of Johnson City, TN; and two great-granddaughters, Tatum Cook of Johnson City and Candice Dawn Trivett of Elk Park.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Lincoln and Matthew Trivett; three brothers, Omer, Jim and Ustace Trivett; four sisters, Pauline Kelley, Louise Oliver, Loy Trivett and Agnes Walsh.

Bert married Anna Lee Nunley about 1953 in , Avery County, North Carolina, . Matthew "Huey" Trivette, age 56, of Beech Mountain passed away on September 7, 2012 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte.

A native of Avery County, he was born April 12, 1956 a son of Bert and Ann Trivette of Beech Mountain.

He was an outstanding high school athlete in football, wrestling and baseball and lettered in all three sports. He also played football for Lees McRae College and he loved to watch the Green Bay Packers.

Matthew was preceded in death by his brother Lincoln Trivette.

A devoted friend, accommodating and caring person, Matthew has left to cherish his memory his: daughter, Sommer D. Trivette of Hampton, TN.; brother, Jimmy Trivette of Beech Mountain; granddaughter, Tatum Addison Cooke of Hampton, TN; nephews, Nathan Trivette, Jake Trivette, Matt Trivette, Luke Trivette all of Beech Mountain; great niece, Candice Trivette of Beech Mountain; best friend, Nub Taylor of Newland.

Funeral services for Matthew "Huey" Trivette will be conducted on Thursday, September 13th at 7:00 p.m. in the Grandfather Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home with Mr. Nub Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until the service hour. Family, pallbearers and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home on Friday, September 14th at 1:00 p.m. to go in procession to McGuire Cemetery for graveside services.
