    Dora G. Adams, age 85, of 284 Pandora Lane, Butler, TN passed away at her residence Monday, June 18, 2018. She was born August 6, 1932 to the late Rosevelt Garland and Sara Robinson Garland. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and her hobbies included cooking, quilting, gardening, flowers , visiting Cherokee and especially loved her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Willie Reese Adams in 1999; one brother: Sambo Garland; one sister: Mossie Garland; daughter: Fran Pardue and son-in-law J. C. Pardue.

    Survivors include: three daughters: Barbara Denny of Mountain City, TN; Kathy D. Woodard of Butler, TN and Connie Ashenback of Mountain City, TN; three sons: Worley Adams of Butler, TN; Charlie Adams (Tammy) of Butler, TN and David Adams (Traci) of Butler, TN; two sisters: Dorothy Mays and Verlee Garland, both of Mountain City, TN; one brother: Henry Garland of Mountain City, TN; many grandchildren, many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Special friends Vickie Price, Loyd McEwen, Billy Joe Maines, Libby Cornett, and Danny Herman also survive.

    The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Wednedsay, June 20, 2018 in Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux & Lipford Funeral Home.

    Funeral services for Dora G. Adams will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2019 from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux & Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Peterson officiating. Music will be provided by Tony Potter. Graveside and interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Matthew Adams, Ricky Pardue, Tony Pardue, David Adams, Ian Lewis, Nathaniel Rice and Norman Miller, Jr.

    Worley Reese Adams, age 71 of Butler, TN passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021. Worley was born on December 13, 1949 in Johnson County, TN to the late Willie Reese Adams and Dora Garland Adams. In addition to his parents Worley was preceded in death by a sister, Fran Pardue.

    Worley “Grizz” enjoyed living his life to the fullest. Farming was his passion and running the roads to visit family and friends. His granddaughter Elizabeth was his world, where you seen one you seen the other. He loved fishing and playing cards when he could. He always looked after those around him and put others before himself. He was a very loveable man and will be missed.He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.

    Worley is survived by his son, Keith Grindstaff (Debbie); granddaughter, Elizabeth Grindstaff (Jesse); three sisters, Barbara Denney, Kathy Woodard and Connie Aschenback, two brothers, Charlie Adams (Tammie) and David Adams (Traci); several nieces, nephews and cousins.

    The family receives friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Mountain City Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service followed at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Phillips and Pastor Harvey White officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Keith Grindstaff, Randy Garland, Ricky Pardue, David Adams, Matthew Adams, Eric Garland, Andrew Zanotti, Charlie Adams and Herbie Adams.

    The family would like to say a special Thank You to Ronda Garland, Joy Garland, and Robin and John Furr for their help and to all those who brought food and assisted in any way.
