    JOHNSON CITY - Betty Jean Casteel Miller, 80, of Johnson City passed away on October 28, 2017 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

    A native of Washington County, she is the daughter of the late Elbert and Eliza Lyons Casteel. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Edward Miller; son, Roger Sells Miller; and sisters, Margie Fry and Christine Owen.

    Betty was of the Free Will Baptist faith and is described by loved ones as energetic and feisty. She was a loving, strong woman who loved cooking, spending time with her family, and loving on her dog, Kilbee.

    Those left to cherish Betty's memory include: son, Ricky Edward Miller of Johnson City; brothers, Frank Casteel, Jr., Cecil Casteel, Gilbert Casteel, Joe Casteel, David Casteel, Wayne Casteel, and R.Y. Casteel; sisters, Francis Jones and Barbara Jones; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and special friend, James Rowe.

    The family would like to extend a special thank you to all friends and family and the 6300 floor of the JCMC.

    The family will receive friends to share memories on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 4:00 PM until a celebration of Betty's Life beginning at 7:00 PM in the sunrise chapel of Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services, Johnson City, with Reverend Tony Trott officiating. An entombment will be held in the mausoleum at Washington County Memory Gardens, Johnson City on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 PM. Brian Harrison, Aaron Billings, Sam Harrison, Jason Miller, Bobby Tester, and Shawn Jenkins will serve as pallbearers. Gage Whitaker will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
