    JOHNSON CITY - Ethel May Lyons Street, 101 years young, of Johnson City, passed away on Monday, February, 26, 2018.

    She was a native of Carter County and daughter of the late Robert Lyons and Mary Ann Grindstaff Lyons.

    In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Lawrence Street; brothers: Robert Lyons, Basil Lyons, and Henry F. Lyons; sisters: Tempie Lyons, and Joyce Dennis Hale; her sons-in-law, Jimmy Henley, and Delbert Dempsey.

    She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Everyone who knew Ethel, called her "Nanny".

    Those family members left to cherish Ethel's memory include her children: Norma Dempsey, Wayne Street (Helen), Richard Lee Street (Shirley), Larry Street (Ann), Lucy Henley, Melinda Sue Smith (Bill), and James Street (Janel); 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren; sisters, Jean Mast, and Rose Corell; brother, Carroll Dennis, several nieces and nephews..

    In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN 38105.

    The family will greet friends to share memories on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 5:00 pm until a Celebration of Ethel's Life at 7:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Keith Malone officiating. A Graveside and Committal Service will be held at 10:45 am on Friday at Mt. Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Barnett, Coty Malone, Dakota Lail, Taylor Pruett, John Foshie, and Fred Smith.

    Ethel married Clifford Lawrence Street about 1934 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Clifford (son of Landon A. Street and Lucy Mae Brummett) was born on 15 Mar 1915 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died on 17 May 1981 in Washintgon County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Mountain Home National Cemetery, , Washington County, Tennessee.
