    Frank Carr, 82, 135 Old Stoney Loop, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, January 22, 2002, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
    Mr. Carr was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Lee and Belle Lyons Carr. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Edel Carr Sams; six brothers, Arvy, Jess, Arline, Andre, Paul and Silas; a stepson, Sam Bowers II; and a granddaughter, Julie Seymore.
    Mr. Carr was a decorated World War II U.S. Army veteran, Staff Sergeant and Squad Leader, Army 6th Division, in New Guinea and the Philippine Islands. He was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation, after 41 years, and a member of East River Park Christian Church, where he served as a deacon.



    CARR -- Funeral services for Frank Carr, 82, 135 Old Stoney Loop, Elizabethton, who died Tuesday, January 22, 2002, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, January 25, at East River Park Christian Church with Mr. John H. Smith and Mr. Joel Stauffer, ministers, officiating. Music will be under the direction of John and Mary Smith and Lavelle Fair. Interment will follow at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post No. 2166.

    Frank married Eunice Martitia Parlier after 1945 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Eunice (daughter of Robert Conley Parlier and Lola Caroline McGuire) was born on 6 Oct 1921 in , Avery County, North Carolina, ; died on 12 Nov 2015 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Mountain Home National Cemetery, , Washington County, Tennessee.     Clarence Carr, 74, of Pembroke, Va., departed this life on June 25, 2022. Born in Tennessee on January 16, 1947, he was a son of the late Arvy and Lucille Sheets Carr.
    Clarence served his communities faithfully, first as a soldier in the Vietnam War, and later as a contractor.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil Marie Carr; son, Stephen Carr; and brother, Fred Carr.
    Left to cherish his memory to their hearts are his son, Quentin Carr (April) of Blacksburg; daughter, Angelique Nickles of Eggleston; grandchildren, Jake Carr, Michael Carr, Derak Nickles, Heather Hagerman, and Issa Carr; brothers, Clyde Carr of Tennessee, and Kenny Carr (Alice) of Tennessee; and sisters, Ann Hensley of Tennessee, and Virginia Hicks (Richard) of Tennessee.
