    Burdette Renfro went home to be with the Lord December 30,2017, at Cornerstone Village of Johnson City after a short illness.

    Burdette was born September 23, 1930 to the late Glen, and Mae McKinney Renfro. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert, and half-sister, Jewell Renfro McKinney.

    Burdette worked in sales most of his adult life with Rainbo Bakery, Moore's Potato Chips, and retired from Kern's Bakery. He was a faithful member of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church of Johnson City, where he served as an usher. He also served as a Deacon at other former churches, and was a 50-year member of the Johnson City Masonic Lodge #486. Burdette enjoyed spending time tending to the flowers in his garden.

    Burdette is survived by his wife of 32 years, Louise Sams Honeycutt Renfro; two sons, Gregory Allan and Jeffrey Wallace Renfro, both of Johnson City; one step daughter, Janet Honeycutt Carriger, of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Alex Jason, of Abingdon VA, Grant Thomas of Greenville, South Carolina, and Christy Renee Burrough and Jonathan Edward Renfro, both of Elizabethton; two great grandchildren, Bracken Carter and Addison Grace, of Elizabethton; three step-grandchildren Rebecca Monroe, of Houston, Texas, Rachel West, of Asheville, North Carolina, and David Carriger, of League City, Texas; two half-brothers, Gene and Bert Renfro, both of Johnson City, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2017, at 8:00 pm, at Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 1004 East Lakeview Drive, Johnson City, TN 37601. Pastor Paul Crowe and Reverend Howard Ray will officiate, with music provided by the Quillen family. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Thursday from 6:00 pm until the time of service. Committal services will be held at Monte Vista Memorial Park in Johnson City on Friday, January 5th, at 1:00 pm. Pallbearers will be Terry Bennett, Ken Geisler, Vernon Smith, Bill Campbell, Josh Hinkle, and Phil Hill, with honorary pallbearers being Butch Buck and David Cretzinger.
