    Notes:

JOHNSON CITY - Carolyn Ann Snyder McCourry, 80, of Johnson City, TN, passed away peacefully at her home on October 21, 2017 after a prolonged illness and is now reunited with her Mama, whom she dearly missed.

Carolyn was born in Shouns, TN, to the late Lillian Allen Snyder and Frank H. Snyder. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Owen and Roger McCourry, brother, Bill Snyder, and special aunt Hallie and uncle Paul Glass. Carolyn was of the Christian faith and attended New Hope Church of Christ while she was still able. Widowed at the tender age of 28 and with three children to raise, Carolyn worked hard to support them, first in restaurant management and later in dry cleaning establishments. She tried very hard to teach her children the importance of cleanliness, hard work, and doing a job well. She was especially proud of obtaining her GED in 1996 the age of 59. Carolyn had a great sense of humor and loved laughter. She always had a smile. Carolyn, regarded by many as an excellent cook, made the best beans, cornbread, and pumpkin pie ever. She was always stylish and impeccably dressed, and never passed up a good sale on shoes! She dearly enjoyed a good conversation, and she especially liked talking about her children and grandchildren. Carolyn loved traveling, shopping, reading, watching Jeopardy, and going out to eat. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. Carolyn will be dearly missed by her children and their spouses, Donna Smith (Bob, whom she loved like a son), Ricci Owen, Kimberly (Alan), Summer Hill (James), and Jason McReynolds (Christi); her beloved brothers and sisters, Ralph "Buck" Snyder, J.E. Snyder, Joe Snyder, Jack Snyder, Larry Snyder, Sallie Sheehan (best friend forever), C.A. "Sonny" Snyder, Forrest Snyder, and Melinda Jones, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, special daughter-in-law Bonnie Childers, Joey Cunningham, whom she loved like a son, precious stepsons Chris, Randy, and Scott McCourry, ex-husband Bill McReynolds (Rose), numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, countless friends, and Chow-Chow, her beloved kitty.

Carolyn donated her body to the Quillen College of Medicine.
